How to draw a hot dog

Updated on November 1, 2012

Hi again! Here is yet another simple drawing tutorial here on hubpages. Today, I will show you how to draw a delicious hot dog drawing. This tutorial Will have two optional steps at the very end which I recommend including in order to boost the overall appearance of the image.

I know this is a somewhat unusual tutorial but I feel that it will come in handy for someone out there!

Step 1

We're going to start off by drawing the buns. The buns are probably the most difficult part to drawing a hot dog actually. In the illustration, I have started drawing the right bun first.

Step 2

Draw the left bun. Notice that I haven't drawn a connection between the two buns? This is where the hot dog wiener itself will sit, directly in the middle between the buns.

Step 3

On the left side, draw the top side of the bun, or the exterior portion of the bread bun. The entire bun should have the appearance of being bendable and able fold in half.

Step 4

Draw an outline for the hot dog between the bun pieces. The overall drawing is complete at this point, but it needs more detail in order for the hot dog to stand out more and appear to be more delicious! :)

Step 5

Draw in your details. Create a bread-like texture on the bun and include some lines on the end portion of the hot dog.

Optional Step #1

This is not a required step, but if you want to go the extra mile, you can add some sesame seeds on your hot dog bun. Draw just small, pin sized dots to represent the seeds.

Optional Step #2

Add a swirly mustard line in the middle of your hot dog. Not only does this improve the overall appearance of the hot dog and make stand out more, but it makes it look delicious enough to eat straight off of the paper!

Tussin, I thought of you immediately when I saw this hub and was considering contacting you about it. I see you have found it on your own. I should have known you would somehow come across it. Eery. I have chills.
