My kids love art! I guess you can say they inherited the love for arts and crafts honestly. I am always looking for ways to save money and have fun in process. Well, the process of saving money is exciting for me anyway! *smile* I have been attending school all summer and wanted to spend some extra quality time with my children since I had no more homework! This is what we came up with. I had already finished school shopping for the upcoming school year and I always get extra school supplies around back to school time. (Check out my Back to School Savings hub) School supplies seem to be cheapest only this time of year. This is what we came up with:

What you'll need:

*A book of construction paper ( I paid $1.00 for a book at Dollar Tree)

*Glue sticks (They were 10 cents at Walmart)

*Washable Markers (They were 0.50 cents at Walmart)

*Colored Pencils (They were also 0.50 cents at Walmart)

Preparation

I cut a sheet of each color construction paper into approximately 1 inch strips. I then cut a sheet of each color construction paper in approximately 1 inch squares. I then gave each of my children a sheet of construction paper of the color of their choice and a glue stick and told them to be creative! We had a blast! Have fun!

*Below is what we came up with

My son is very creative. He combined 2-D and 3-D art and this is what he came up with. He added a few extra materials. He collects anything Lego Star Wars, Hot Wheels cars, and army men.

Art is a way to express ourselves and create something from pure imagination. What a cute bunch of photos, and a wonderful, yet simple craft idea. It looks like a lot of fun. Very cute photos!

      Voted up, useful, and interesting.
