Kids crafts; How to make an I-SPY Bottle

Updated on March 7, 2012

Are used to playing I-SPY books with the kids? Well if you want to change it up a bit make an I-SPY bottle, its a 3-D game that all kids love. If you want an easy and fun craft for you and your kids to enjoy, well this is for you. If your looking for a fun game for your kids this is also a game too! So you can always have fun playing with it! This fun kids craft project is called an I-SPY bottle, I saw this idea on the internet and just tried to make one myself and it turned out perfect. My neices and nephews always have fun playing with it! Whether they are just shaking the bottle to make noise or to actually find the neat things inside. If you decide to make yourself an I-SPY bottle you will want to have your kids with you to help pick out some of the cute little things to put in your bottle. Your kids can put some of their own trinkets and favorite items in the bottle as long as it will fit! This game will always be loads of fun and give you the chance to have fun with your kids, so try it out and let me know how it works out! This game is very inexpensive and easy to make, keep reading for instructions and the supplies you will need:)

Supplies and Instructions:

1 bag of un-cooked rice

Water bottles, coke bottles, or VOSS bottles

Hot glue gun

Several small items you would like to go in your bottle (beads, charms, buttons, marbles)

First you will want to clean out and dry your bottle(s), then you will want to make a list of the items you have so that way you can look for them in the bottle, like a real i-spy game. Start to fill your bottle with rice and also add some of your small items as well, alternate until bottle is about 3/4 of the way full, leaving room will make your bottle able to shake, which is always fun especially if you have little ones! At the end glue on your cap securely, so you don't have rice everywhere! Then you have your I-SPY game, let the kids try to find everything on the list within the bottle.

For even more fun make more bottles with different things inside, this is great for a rainy day, if you want to do it just as a craft or a game. I-SPY bottles can be kind of expensive online, so make your own and save money! Have fun playing with your I-SPY bottle, thanks so much for reading. :)

I wish I found this hub while I still a Special Education Teacher.

They will love it so much!

To make it more educational, I suggest to put numbers or alphabets inside, so while they shake they also can try to find the letters.

      I LOVE IT!.

      cheers from Malaysia. :)
