Knitting Fingerless Gloves

Updated on February 11, 2013

What You Will Need

  • 6mm knitting needles
  • 1 ball of medium weight yarn in the colour of your choice
  • a yarn needle

Fingerless Gloves

These fingerless gloves also known as gauntlets are great for when your hands are a bit chilly. Excellent for when you need your fingers free for things like typing or knitting. These are very simple to make, they would be a perfect project for a beginner knitter. As long as you know how to slip knot, cast on, knit, purl, and bind off you should have no problem making these.

Fingerless Gloves Directions

Take your yarn and slip knot onto your knitting needle, and cast on 40 stitches

Start doing ribbing in knit two, purl two for twenty rows.

After that do twenty rows in stockinette stitch (knit one row, pearl one row.) Bind off.

Thread the tail into the yarn needle, and sew up the side at the ribbing and up one inch of the stockinette stitch to make the cuff.

Make sure to leave one inch open for the thumb hole, and sew the rest.

Sew Up Side

All Finished
