Sometimes it happens that you start planning your Valentine's day gifts few weeks before, but when the love day comes you still do not have anything. In this situation crocheting can help you much. It is very easy to create some tiny decorations using crocheted hearts of something cute. The crocheting is great, because almost no materials are needed. The only thing you need is a piece of yarn and crocheting hook. That is why I adore crocheting. With almost nothing you can create really beautiful things. So, take your crocheting hooks and finish your Valentine's day gifts. I am sure, that after a few hours you will have plenty of crocheted hearts to amaze your friends and sweethearts.

Patterns for the projects that you can see on the pictures can be found on the links that at the bottom of the pictures. Happy Valentine's crocheting.

Tiny Valentine Hearts

Tiny crocheted hearts are the first solution when you do not have anything for Valentine's day. These hearts are easy to mane. It takes less then 5 minutes for expert crocheter to make one hear. So you can make approximately 10 hearts in one hour. The pattern can be fount on the Crochet Flower Patterns blog (the link is at the bottom of the picture in the right).

I suggest you another one great version of this pattern. You will need a red yarn and a crochet hook.

1. Make a slip ring (magic ring, adjustable ring). If you are not familiar with a slip ring, make a simple foundation ring made of 4 chain and join it with sl st.

2. Make 3 chain, work 2 tr into the ring, make 3 dc into the ring, chain 1, 1 tr into the ring, chain 1, make 3 dc into the ring, make 2 tr into the ring, chain 2, sl st into the ring.

3. Make 3 chain, make 2 sc into the first st of round 2, make 3 sc into the next st, make 4 sc into each next st, chain 1, make hdc into the tr st of round 2, chain 1, make 4 sc into each next st, make 3 sc into the next st, 2 sc into the next st, chain 2, sl st into the ring. Finish your heart.

These hearts can be used to decorate everything. You can decorate greeting cards, pillows, bags. They can be used to make hairpins or even earring. Use your fantasy and you will be able to create really nice Valentine's day accents.

Coffee or Tea Cup Mats

Coffee or tea cup mats can be a very nice morning accent on Valentine's day. Pick a pattern you like and crochet some big hearts to make you mats. Many patterns can be found on the Internet. Do not afraid to improvise. Take a tapestry needle, contrast yarn and stitch a smile or your love's name on the one of the crocheted hearts. Off course, I will take little bit more time to make those mats, but this is a very delicate way to say "I love you" during the breakfast.

3D Crocheted Hearts

3D crocheted hearts requires much more time that other projects mentioned before. Also, you need to have some material to stuff the heart. But I am sure, that crocheted 3d hearts will be loved by amigurumi crocheters. These hears are made in amigurumi style. The only stitch you should know is a single crochet. I suggest trying these tiny 3d hearts, and you will become addicted to them.

These hearts are not the best last minute's idea for beginner crocheters but the professional crocheters should handle them quite easily. If you have some free time, suggest you to crochet the full jar of hears and put it on the shelf. It would be a great decoration for your home. Moreover, you will be ready for the Valentine's day next year. This will save you from desperate internet browsing for last minute Valentine's day ideas.

Thank you, snappycanvas. Handmade items always give warm feelings and shows attention. I completely agree with you, that personal tuch is much more better, than a factory made greeting card or stuffed head. It does not matter, that sometime those handmade thing look a little bit cranky, but they are full of love and other feelings.
