The Art of Making Jewelry With Wire

The art of wire jewelry is a craft that dates back to biblical times. Pieces of wire jewelry have been found in the Egyptian pyramids and tombs of the Pharaohs!

With the wide array of wire and beads available in craft stores and on line in today's world, the pieces of jewelry that can be made are as endless as they are beautiful.

Trust me, I know of wire's addictive powers, so be careful, because once you get started, the sky is the limit to what you can create.

When you start out making wire jewelry, you may feel a little awkward, for lack of a better word. Learning how to twist and manuever the wire is something you will get better at the more you do it. I promise you that if you give it time, it will become like second nature to you.

If you are interested in learning how to make wire jewelry, please read ahead for more information and tutorials on how to enjoy this wonderful artistic craft that can provide hours of fun and creative expression.

After you have made a few pieces and start feeling confident about your wire crafting abilities, you are sure to get compliments on your finished pieces, so are you ready??? Let's make some jewelry!

Gorgeous necklace made with wire

This necklace is a little more advanced, but in my opinion, once you learn how to work with wire, it would be fairly simple to make with the right supplies

Supplies Needed To Make Wire Jewelry

When you make wire jewelry, you will only need a few supplies to get started and most of them are inexpensive. I personally wouldn't over-invest in a craft unless I was sure I liked it first so perhaps starting out simple is best.

There are many jewelry tool kits to select from online and in stores. I would recommend a local craft store for selecting a kit because you could use a 40% off coupon as this will probably the most expensive thing you have to buy in order to begin.

Jewelry tool kits mostly with the same compilation of about six different tools. As long as you have the basics, you should be good to go. In other words, I wouldn't buy the pieces separately because it would be too expensive.

I'm not a big jewelry wearer because of an allergy to nickel. Is it possible to work with a nickel free alloy or are the tools needed, different?

      You've listed some beautiful designs.
