Magic Crafts
Stories of magic are an inspiration to the imagination. For those who want to craft an item from their favorite legend or story, here are three DIY examples to craft a magical piece of fantasy.
Magic Wand
A magic wand is a nice addition to one's collection of trinkets.
You will Need:
- Wood Dowel
- Roundish rock
- Paint (Two colors of your choice)
- Hot glue
- Pen top (optional)
- Jewelry wire
- Glitter
- Mod Podge
Step 1
Paint rock and Dowel. Paint the pen top as well.
Step 2
Wrap wire around top of dowel. Hot glue at spots.
Step 3
Glue rock to back on end of dowel.
Step 4
Hot glue pen top to the other end of dowel. Also put a dot of glue on tip of pen top.
- This step is optional. The wand may be made with rock and wire without adding the pen top.
Step 5
Paint other color on end of dowel around pen top, and on the wire around rock. Be sure to let paint dry.
Step 6
Paint top of rock with some mod podge and front of pen top. Then sprinkle glitter on it.
Step 7
Let dry!
All done! Enjoy this glittering wand.
Dragon Stones
Dragons stones can come to life from your favorite fairy tale.
You will need:
- Stones
- Paint
- Mod Podge
- Glitter
Step 1
Paint stones! Let dry.
Step 2
Paint the middle of them with mod podge. Sprinkle glitter on them.
Step 3
Let dry!
Mermaid Tears Jars
This DIY Mermaid tears craft is a lot of fun for a beach party or little mermaid theme. It is also a nice choice for pirate and fantasy room décor.
You will need:
- Mason Jar
- Salt
- Seashells (small and big ones)
- Party beads
- Hot glue
- Glitter
- Cardstock
- Black watercolor paint
- Jewelry chain (or yarn)
Step 1
Fill mason jar almost half way with salt.
Step 2
Cut one strand of party bead necklace into jar. Let each bead fall in jar. Sprinkle glitter in with beads and then mix beads and glitter into the salt.
Step 3
Cut another necklace of party beads and sprinkle more glitter and stir in.
Step 4
Cut a label out of cardstock. Cut the edges curvy and jagged if you wish. Paint the words Mermaid tears and paint edges with black water color paint. Let paint dry.
Step 5
Mod podge label on to jar with mod podge.
Step 6
Glue seashells on to mason jar. Glue large seashell on top of jar, and glue little seashells next to the label.
Step 7
Wrap jewelry chain around jar above seashells. Adds a pretty effect!
All done! Your very own mermaid tears.
