Online Drawing Lessons

Updated on November 7, 2010

Drawing Lessons Online

Drawing lessons are online everywhere if you look and are actively searching for drawing tutorials in different art subjects and art styles, so I thought I'd do a hubpage on where you can find these online sites that feature these drawing lessons.

To define a drawing tutorial, I mean anything that helps you to draw something or in a specific way, this is especially useful if you are an art student or someone who really needs inspiration to draw something in a certain way, I've been having a go at some drawing tutorials for a good while now and I do so want to create some ultimate drawing tutorials that will be very useful to some artists.

Here is a list of the websites and blogs that can help you draw and be inspired by drawing some cool stuff:-

Dragoart.com - This is a great website owned by a nice lass called Dawn, who comes up with lots of drawing tutorials on her site and she draws lots of manga inspired things and quite cleverly what people are searching for too, which is probably why her site is climbing the search engines as she updates the site with new drawing tutorials everyday.

What makes this site even better is you can sign up for the site and create your own drawing tutorials for display too, which is what I've been doing, you can create them especially for the site or link to them elsewhere on the Internet, plus you can embed YouTube videos too if you have drawing videos!

Howtodrawit.com - This is a fairly basic, but good look at drawing stuff in simple easy to follow drawing lessons, from drawing roses to trees and lots of animals. It's a good site and I think they add new stuff at a snails pace, so you can easily go through what they have there already and practice drawing some cool stuff.

Drawingcoach.com - This is a familiar site for me as I've visited a few drawing tutorials within and found them to be quite useful over the years and the site even inspired me to have a go at drawing my own drawing tutorial lessons.

How-To-Draw-Cartoons-Online.com- This site is great for cartoonists who want a bit of inspiration to draw some fantastically cartoony stuff, from cartoon monsters and sea animals to recognizable stuff like Star Wars, draw cartoon stuff is great when you can follow some instruction on how to draw that way.

HowToDrawManga.com- A few useful drawing tutorials for fans of the Manga art style, although there could be more drawing tutorials added, but it's a start, I recommend MangaTutorials.comfor more wider range of Manga stuff to draw, with specific tutorials too, it looks like a growing site, so that manga drawing site is good.

IDrawGirls.com - This is an inspirational blog that goes through the process of drawing digitally with Gimp and other online tools, occasionally traditional art is explored, but it's worth looking at all the videos to get inspired and see how he creates these fantastic works of art.

Also you can check out kids drawing tutorials for a little look at drawing articles and tutorials aimed specifically at kids to help them with their imaginations in art.

Hahahahaha! thanks for spotting that typo....! I've fixed it, cheers! sometimes checking the spelling after doing all that typing just makes me depressed as I want to publish the hubpage straight away!

Great hub, sir. This is a bit awkward, but I think you made a typo above. I assume you meant to say, "This is a great website owned by a nice lass called Dawn," but as of this writing it says something, shall we say, much different. I just wanted to respectfully point it out.

It's long since I've tried to draw with a pencil. I've been using the mouse on Paint.net for a long spell and that needs a lot of practice! :)
