Paper Cut Horrorgami and Kirigami
Rosemary's Baby Movie
Paper Dandy Paper Art
The name of this artist is Marc Hagan-Guirey. He had a show of his art called Horrorgami in London in 2012. It had a good reception to the art work. It is some fascinating work.
This art is all cut out from one piece of paper each. It is all extremely detailed work. These works can also be called 3D paper cutting art. Another name that it is called is kirigami paper art.
The artist has made different paper cut artworks that each go to a different horror movie or a TV show. Each one has its own house or it could also be a building. The houses seem to take on a life of their own. The artist is able to convey a lot of the meaning and horror of the movies and TV just by showing the simple buildings. Each one has a different look and feel to it.
The different art pieces are mostly all captured in just one color each. There will be different shades of the color. Some do have the different colors for accents and to make a contrast. The different shades are able to represent different aspects of the plot and what happens in the movie. The artist is able to convey the feeling of the houses and buildings with just the simple monochrome colors. They are all different tones of the color. Also they look especially nice as a group. The colors all go together as being vibrant. There are more buildings in his work. More of it is shown on the links here.
Also the color chosen for each art work piece seems to go pretty well with the movie or TV show that it is representing. The acid green that was chosen to go with Rosemary's Baby represents the movie and the feeling of it really well. The Addams Family blue tones give it a nice kooky look. It also is spooky from the feeling that you can get from just the house alone. The Bates Residence from Psycho is red as the color of blood. It has accents in orange to give it a really horror look. His mother is in the window.
It is as if you can just feel what is happening there in the house. There could be an actual feeling of the evil and something being wrong. The Chinese girls in the library had a game one day to try to tell if a house was haunted and what was inside. You can feel as if the houses have something in them.
The art is made in light boxes. So there is light within the paper houses that is shining out the windows. It is all very detailed. There is more detailing on it than you might imagine from just looking at the pictures of the works. Some of the pictures that were taken show more of the details. There are staircases made for the buildings. They have little bushes in the picture also made out of the same paper.
All of the pictures have different cars or an object to represent the different movies. In Rosemary's Baby the baby carriage itself is in the front of the movie. The other scenes have different cars in the front that go with the movie. There are also sometimes people made out of paper that are visiting or going inside the building.

Paper Art Work
The art work with paper appeals to me. I have always liked seeing little houses made also. It is something that fascinates me about how someone can make art and do all of that with just one piece of paper. There are so many things that you can do with it. It is just amazing what they can create.
They are also making paper buildings with the kirigami now what has printed designs on the paper already. So it looks like an actual house with whatever they would like to have put on it.
I saw the art paper sculpture of Jesus that the artist had made before and I was just blown away with it. His name is Peter Callesen. He has other art also. He has made a castle that is also wonderful and other art work. All of his artwork is made out of one piece of paper also.
The Popupology site that I put on the web links here has pdf patterns for making different buildings in paper kirigami. It also has video instructions for making them all. It includes a castle of its own with it. It also has valentines and snowflakes, etc.
