Papercraft is it coming into its own league?
Three Papercrafts, Adventure time, Minecraft and Pokémon.
I will Start this hub by just introducing three major players in the paper craft game.
Adventure time: The series follows the adventures of Finn, a human boy, and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake, a dog with magical powers to change shape and grow and shrink at will.
Finn and Jake live in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo. Along the way, they interact with the other main characters of the show: Princess Bubblegum, The Ice King and Marceline the Vampire Queen.
Pokémon: The anime follows the quest of the main character, Ash Ketchum, a Pokémon Master in training, as he and a small group of friends travel around the fictitious world of Pokémon along with their Pokémon partners.
Catching Pokémon in Various regions and battling each other to gain badges and victories in the Pokémon leagues across the globe from Kanto to Kalos.
Minecraft: A building game that is perfect for papercraft, You can make the blocks your own by building homes with them for steve Craft and even build the mobs for them as well.
Now if you have played minecraft you may of heard of it being mixed in with pokémon and even adventure time, that's why this can work so well. you can merge the three together and then have an adventure dungeons and dragons style.
Amazing Dragon Papercraft illusion
Illusions at its finest with paper!
optical illusions are great when mixed with papercraft as you can see in this short video. It is amazing how our brains can adapt to things and show us stuff that is not really there. Great as a room guard when mixed with a sound module and a motion detector.
The Museum of papercraft.
Now if you think oh my god i want to start already then please do. Here is a link to a brilliant website that I find to be a treasure trove of models and it has steps to create almost anything, including Dragonball figures,Pokémon and lots more.
Check it out and try it yourself, you will be amazed by the result of what you can make with a little time and dedication. I love origami and think that it is a lost art that has a need to come back strong.
Minecraft Set you can buy!
Paper can do many things, one it does particularly well is bending and making boxes. Now using those boxes you make you can modify and build a big Houndoom like this beast of a model by kitzybitzyy.
Starter: Now Everybody who has watched or played Pokémon knows you have a choice of 3 starters so i am going to give you a choice of three starters:
Now if you have chosen Eevee don't forget to make the elemental stones to evolve Eevee to which ever evolution you wish to make for it.
When it comes down to building paper Pokémon, you can have your 6 Poke-balls made on a holder made from an egg box, your star poke just on the side standing with pride, but don't forget to cover with PVA glue to keep it sturdy.

Have you ever crafted a paper model?
Here i will put some general tips to get you a master of papercraft:
- Choice of Paper:
- Never use glossy photo paper, The ink will tear when you try to make folds.
- The heavier the paper, the more difficult it is to manipulate. The lighter the paper, the stronger your model holds in the end.
- Papercraft models range from 5 cm to 5 foot tall. If your paper is too light, the model will be flimsy.
- Cutting: Do not cut towards the colour surface. always use a craft knife and blades to get better accuracy in the cuts you make.
- Place each piece next to each other like how they originally came from the printer. It’ll be easier to figure out what goes where later.
- if you need to keep different body parts separate
- Glue: Use glue for the tabs, This will make it more sturdy when it is complete.
The instructions are really simple with Crafts, You print, cut, fold and stick. its self explanatory and if you get lost with all the pieces you just need to take a look at another picture.
Go and try something new today and make your first origami craft. It doesn't have to be a model, it could just be a Christmas ornament.
