Politically Incorrect Advertising

Updated on May 6, 2015

Have you ever looked at some of the vintage advertising that is out there? Maybe some of you will remember these ads. I found them quite funny and thought that I would share some of them with you. I would love to know what you think of them so please leave comments in the box at the bottom of this hub.

Promoting Blatz Beer for a mother to drink while breast feeding. " hmmm amazing how back in the day they thought that beer consumption would benefit the baby giving the child nourishment"

Talk about making your daughter feel great! What a deal same price for over sized clothing.

I think this ad should read "For Sale For All Druggies" rather than For Sale By all Druggists.

Great gift for all of those wanting their spouses to off themselves. Would you look at those prices wow!

Give me a break I am fun to be around all the time!

This is when you could smoke in grocery stores, hospitals, school yards and just about anywhere you wanted to. But blowing smoke in someone's face.....I'll pass on this one.

This one says it all!

You sure would not see a cruise advertised this way today!

What no pop tops? Even Cans have come a long way.

Cocaine for toothache drops, can you imagine. No wonder so many people go hooked on drugs, they promoted them without realizing the consequences. LOL Loved them all the other was "The Chef does everything but cook, that's what wives are for" talk about chauvinism at it's best. YIKES. lol

Really? Cocaine is used to treat severe nosebleeds? I'd never realized that.

About all I can say is OMG! However, we do still use cocaine in the emergency rooms for severe nosebleeds. It works and the patient feels ever so much better.

I think I'll take a Midol next time instead of hitting Bob over the head with the skillet. ROFL

Good heavens, I remember Dristan nasal drops being advertised all the time!! I had no idea they had cocaine in them!

Though, come to think of it, so did Coca-Cola, at least at first. I live in Atlanta, the home of Coca-Cola, and remember hearing that in the early days, guys would come home to find their wives smashed and didn't know it was because of the Coca-cola. They just thought they'd been drinking....

      Funny...a little scary too....

What's a can opener? Great ideas for a gay cruise - you could probably get it booked solid and make a fortune!

I was a 'chubby' kid at times but my mother just locked me in a closet for a week without food so I could fit into my brother's hand-me-downs. LOL. There is just no finer gift than a handgun - fully loaded -for the grade school graduate! Enjoyed this nostalgic stroll through yesteryear.

This was awesome! I LOVE old ads. They used to have old ads printed on the tables at Wendy's restaurants. One of the products that was on display at every table was a Bung Hole Borer, which, with my sick mind, always managed to crack me up. It obviously left an impression, and so did this hub. Now, I'm off to blow some smoke in some hot chick's face.

Come to think about it I don't see Pahrmacies called "Drug stores" anymore.Back in the early 1970s I lived in sort of a bad neighborhood. there was a "head shop" in a mall a few blocks away. Our neighbor was selling marihuana and I was to dumb to know what it all was. I was leaving the house on evening and a young guy asked me if I knew where the drug store was. I thought he wanted a pharmacy and gave him directions to the nearest one I knew of.Only later did I learn what he really wanted.
