Prismacolor Art Markers

Updated on November 28, 2011

Prismacolor Double Ended Artist Markers

Prismacolor always have been associated with top quality colored pencils that professional artists use and with these double ended prismacolor art markers the quality is still top notch although more expensive than most other art markers but the expense can be justified with the vibrant colors of these artist markers and the traditional way you can apply these markers to your artwork for coloring and designing.

With the double ended markers you have the opportunity to start at a basic level with a selection of primary and secondary colors especially within the 24 pack of these pens. The pens themselves blend quite well and although you do need to buy some good marker pad paper so that the ink won't bleed through. The alternative is to color and draw with these markers on a single sheet of paper on your drawing board with some scrap paper behind it as it will bleed through thinner cheaper paper.

What a lot of other artists have found is that some of the colors on the labels on each pen don't match up with the actual color and that can be disappointing and not to mention frustrating. Although you can buy other shades of color like skin tones and shades of grey that can add something to your designs the basic 24 pack here should do fine.

Features Of The Art Markers From Prismacolor

These artist markers are great to use for drawing Manga or most other illustration purposes although they aren't better than Copic markers which are more ideal for color work and graphic design. However you can blend the colors quite well with the right paper and produce some great results with these art markers.

The double ended markers come with broad and narrow tips for different ways of applying the color to your art so there is some room for some versatility with drawing and coloring with these pens.

The Prismacolor art markers are a great set of markers and you could splash out on the 48 or 72 pack of double ended markers if you want more color variety and more shades of color to apply to your work.

They are nice markers to use. Although some other artists do recommend some decent marker paper that doesn't soak up most of the ink, like absorb it too much...I will be doing some art marker video demos of this particular brand in the future and others too.....

      cheers now Sweets!

Sounds like another interesting set of markers to try. At the moment I am swimming in art supplies, but I will keep these in mind for the future.

Yes! I'll have to add a drawing video of me drawing with these markers with a few photos of prismacolor art examples.

      Cheers now!

These look really fun. I often "color" using art markers and I agree the Copic markers are a top notch tool, but I find your enthusiasm for the Prismacolor Art Markers makes me want to take them for a ride! Thanks for sharing your know-how!

      Cheers~
