Pullip Goes to the Beach (Free Crochet Pattern)

Updated on June 9, 2013

My favorite hobby is crocheting doll clothes. Using what I've learned from reading existing patterns, I create my own designs for Barbie.

Because of the lack of crochet patterns for Pullip dolls, I thought I'd give it a shot and came up with this summer attire that your doll can wear to the beach. To find out more about Pullip dolls, please visit Facts about Pullip Dolls.

This hub contains links to free patterns, notes on how to change them, as well as a new pattern for a beach hat for your Pullip.

Components of the Outfit

  • Bikini
  • Bikini Drawstring Bag
  • Beach Hat

Pullip Bikini

I used the basic pattern of Barbie Bikini, but used a slightly smaller hook, size no. 3 steel crochet hook. Because the triangles for the top were slightly too big, I reduced the starting chain by 1 and followed the pattern as is.

Pullip Bikini Drawstring Bag

For the Bikini Drawstring Bag, I actually made Barbie's Bag for Pullip's Bikini. I used the same size hook as the Bikini (size no. 3 steel hook), and used some scraps for the tie.

Pullip Beach Hat (Free Pattern)

Most hat patterns I found for Pullip were made using thicker yarn. But I wanted to create a wardrobe made entirely of thread, so I thought I would write this pattern for a basic beach hat.

At this point, the hat should look like this:

Add some feathers to achieve a different look.

Embellishments

Right before I made this hat, I made Butterfly Grace by Chrissy on Ravelry using a size 7 steel hook. Once the hat was done, I tried placing the butterfly on the hat and it fit perfectly, so I sewed it on to complete the look.

You can also choose to use any other embellishments you like, sequins, beads, ribbons, etc. Because the Pullip's head is big, the hat can hold more decorations compared to Barbie's hat. Just have fun adding designs to the basic hat.
