Mother nature has been generous with this country, and as a further example we can talk about the Danube Delta.

This is a natural paradise located in the northwestern part of the Black Sea, a place full of various plants and flowers. Beautiful Lakes

In Romania we can find around 2500 lakes of various types, such as volcanic, glacial, or with sweet or salt water, all of them having their own special beauty.

Lacul Roșu (Red Lake)

One of the lakes I chose to present is the Red Lake (locally known as Lake Ghilcos). The lake is a natural dam formed in 1837 at the foothills of Hasmasul Mare Mountain, near Bicaz Gorges (Cheile Bicazului).

The name of Red Lake (Lacul Roșu) comes from the reddish alluvia deposited in the lake by the Red Creek.

Having the colour of blood, the name of the lake has become both Red Lake and Killer Lake. There is also a legend that villagers cursed this lake because a lot of children died in this lake.

Romania it's a place with a lot of legends, and some of them are known worldwide. The best known legend is that of the bloody Count Dracula who lived in Transilvania in Bran Castle.

Bran Castle is located 30 km from Brașov city, between Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains. This is an important national monument and a beautiful landmark in Romania's tourism, because of its beauty, the landscape, and the legend of Count Dracula.
