The Greatest Artist of All
As I try to paint a picture, this,
a portrait of an artist so great,
I'm humbled in my limitations,
and in the message that I state.
I spread the colors of the finest paint,
upon my canvas there,
My creation, a rendering of all love,
in strokes of utmost care.
In gentle hues and such bold contrasts,
I place each brush, just so,
Such a grand subject, is my own,
none can equal, and this I know.
An artist, a creator of all the worlds,
and one, a strength, without compare,
This artist, a painter, sculptor, a splendid potter,
his gifts of life are so rare.
The Lord God sits calmly by my chair,
as my careful strokes are made,
A model of the infinite good, and to marvel,
as his likeness is portrayed.
This powerful figure, yet a gentleness shown,
as His face in radiance shines,
Upon the canvas of the universe, is his,
and without a limitation in his lines.
The painting of our earth and all the stars,
are his universal masterpiece,
The colors swirled over eons in time,
as his subjects, he sees fit, to increase.
He sculpts each one and with hands divine,
then molds his works of wonder,
The art is cast for all to view, in beautiful scenes,
so lovely, without number.
My finished work, before me stands,
a rendered portrait of our own Creator,
There framed in such a marvelous gold,
His likeness in magnificant splendor.
His chiseled face and the boldness seen,
yet are deceptive in His true values,
So full of grace and gentle thoughts,
as human subjects, His virtues, each views.
