The Posters and Art of Peter Max

Updated on May 30, 2015

A Quick Bio

Peter Max is an American artist (born in Germany) who became famous for his paintings that defined the 1960s. His designs were originally used on concert posters, but since he's become just as well known for his original paintings.

Peter Max also became very interesting in revolutionary new printing techniques and produced some prints that might be reminiscent of artists like Andy Warhol

If you're ever in Las Vegas, be sure to check out the Peter Max art gallery in The Forum Shops at Caesars. You'll find that Max's art now sells for the hundreds of thousands of dollars, but at least you can look without having to get another mortgage on the house.

I've loved Peter Max ever since I was a kid. In 7th grade I had a Peter max notebook binder. I've seen his work in Las Vegas and was amazed at how it has transformed over the years. I shouldn't have been because it's been decades, but it was still fascinating to see how his art had evolved.

Nice look at a great artist.
