The Website Framed
Have you ever heard of the website Framed??
Framed is a website that is somewhat of a social networking site for photographers. But it is more than that. It also has several computer shows about photography. Flix the portion of the website that streams shows on it. The content is free after you join the community which is also free.
What shows are on Framed?
The first show is called Film and it is all about film photography. It starts out discussing the history of photography plus they show how tin type photographs were made and actually take them during the show. They then show how the photographs were developed using caladium. The show airs on Fridays and is 16 weeks long. It is hosted by Tanja Lippert, Tia Reagan and Ryan Muirhead. You can catch all 16 episodes of Film for season 1. The Three hosts are established photographers. Tanja and Tia also put on workshops that anyone can go to and learn from them.
Photopro is another show that airs each week. It features Kevin Kubota, one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world. Some of you may have caught Kevin Kubota on youtube before. His whole Photoshop series also is streamed on Flix. He does a tutorial of lightbox and makes it very easy to understand. He also shows you a lot of tricks as well. I want to thank my online friend Kevin1877uk (Redgage or Arron123on Hubpages) for leading me to youtube to view Kubota. I didn’t realize this was the same person who was on Photopro. The whole Photopro series by Kubota’s is on Framed as well.
Framed also is a show that features a different guest photographer each week. It is a behind the scenes look at each individual photographer in their work environment. It is in season three for Framed. You can watch all 3 seasons on Flix. A new episodes air each Tuesday.
Lit Up featuring Joel Grimes and it is all about how he captures the most powerful images. Lit Up is in its first season and it airs on Wednesdays.
What else is on the site?
There is also some past shows that you can go back and catch. One is on equipment and the other is called Outside the Soft Box. The site also has several photography blogs with links to many sites. If nothing else go in and check out the photographer’s pictures of another photographer being attacked by a golden eagle. (Who ever said photography is an easy job?) There is contests that you can win and there is homework that each show has that you can participate and send in as well.
There is so many things that you can do on this website. If you love photography like I do and are just starting out, or even if you’re not the shows have a wealth of knowledge. Just to get someone else’s perspective is a wonderful thing. Check it out you won’t be sorry!
