ATLANTIS_MYTH OR REALITY?

The lost civilization of Atlantis has intrigued many for centuries.

The Lost City of Atlantis is one of the oldest and most pervasive mysteries of the world. Since ancient times, people have been trying to locate Atlantis, which is believed to have submerged after an earthquake or tsunami. Greek philosopher Plato described Atlantis as a large island located near the Rock of Gibraltar, home of the most advanced civilization and being of unrivaled refinement with a glorious palace. Among its other traits, Atlantis was filled with beautiful citizens, a Poseidon tem.

Science has long claimed that human civilization began after the last Ice Age, 9,600 BC. But new research reveals civilized humans were around long before. “Everything we’ve been taught about the origins of civilization may be wrong. Atlantis and other lost civilizations of prehistory, long dismissed as myths, look set to be proved true.”-Danny Natawidjaja, PhD, senior geologist, Research Centre for Geotechnology, Indonesian Institute of Sciences.

Not all communities of merman shun the company of men, intertwined against the common enemy.

Quoted from Plato's "Timaeus" (21a-27b):

"Now in this island of Atlantis there was a great and wonderful empire which had rule over the whole island and several others, and over parts of the continent, and, furthermore, the men of Atlantis had subjected the parts of Libya within the columns of Heracles as far as Egypt, and of Europe as far as Tyrrhenia. [todays Etruria]"

"After this at a distance of ten days' journey there is another hill of salt and spring of water, and men dwell round it. Near this salt hill is a mountain named Atlas, which is small in circuit and rounded on every side; and so exceedingly lofty is it said to be, that it is not possible to see its summits, for clouds never leave them either in the summer or in the winter. This the natives say is the pillar of the heaven. After this mountain these men got their name, for they are called Atlantians; and it is said that they neither eat anything that has life nor have any dreams."

Atlantis is the one where we got our technology from (proof is to be found) In short, the people who lived here were extremely advanced in technology, they had very advanced air crafts and mass destruction weapons. They were a dominating race that focused on raging war.

WHERE IS ATLANTIS?

No advanced technology has been able to find this mysterious city...

Does it even exist?

The Lost City of Atlantis and Plato's myth were probably what first got me thinking about a legendary city and the idea of myth-chasers, like Uncle Jack dedicating their lives to finding it.

Plato's Atlantis. Plato (through the character Critias in his dialogues) describes Atlantis as an island larger than Libya and Asia Minor put together, located in the Atlantic just beyond the Pillars of Hercules—generally assumed to mean the Strait of Gibraltar.

Lost City of Atlantis: Professor Richard Freund, from Hartford University in Connecticut, used deep-ground radar, digital mapping and satellite imagery to locate what he called “one of the largest and most ancient cities at the bottom of a huge marsh”, north of Cadiz in Spain’s Donaña National Park.

Atlantis, the lost city ~ Plato described Atlantis as a naval force island that around 9000 BC, it contained most parts of Western Europe and North America, but in one day disappeared below the sea level. Although even in the time of Plato, the story of Atlantis was considered as a myth, nowadays it attracts big attention among adventurers and historians.

The Lost City of Atlantis In 360 B.C., Plato wrote about Atlantis, a major sea power in the Atlantic Ocean that mysteriously sank into the ocean “in a single day and night of misfortune.” While some historians think Plato’s account is myth, others have dedicated their lives to finding the lost city, which they believe was an actual superpower devastated by a natural disaster.

Listing numerous parallels between ancient cultures spaced far away from each other, Donnelly argued that their commonness resulted from contact with Atlanteans.

Similarities do indeed exist among various ancient cultures, as do significant differences. Flood myths and sun worship, for example, might be based on a shared teaching, or they might be separate reactions to beneficient and destructive elements of nature.

Atlanteans knowledgeable about a formidable death ray, secrets for levitation, and pure forms of energy through crystals.

A computer graphic shows the concentric rings that may have existed during Atlantis' ancient heyday. Scientists have seen evidence of such submerged structures beneath the vast marshlands of southern Spain's Dona Ana Park.

Description of the city

The primary city, also called Atlantis, was located in the center of a series of concentric rings that alternated between rings of water and land. The water rings served as canals for trade and helped form a series of natural defenses that made an invasion of Atlantis extremely difficult.

Lemuria was the vast prairie which the Greeks called Elysian Fields and which the Egyptians named “the Field of Reeds” (Sekhet Aaru) or, yet, “the Ancestral Land” (To-wer), the overseas Paradise where they formerly lived, in Zep Tepi (“Primordial Time”). The sunken continent became the Land of the Dead, the dreadful, forbidden region where no mariner ever ventured to go, for it was “the Land of No Return”.

The greatest of all Lemurian colonies was Atlantis, founded in India, already during the heydays of Lemuria, and which, in time, reached the apex of human grandeur. Atlantis and Lemuria had prospered for a full zodiacal era (2,160 years), when the great cataclysm destroyed their common world, at the end of the Pleistocene, some 11,600 years ago.

The island was divided among the brothers with the eldest, Atlas, first King of Atlantis, being given control over the central hill and surrounding areas.

According to Plato, the capital of Atlantis was a 14 mile wide complex of canals, walls, gardens, barracks and a public race track, arranged in circles around a royal palace and temple to the sea god Poseidon, the city's patron.

At the top of the central hill, a temple was built to honor Poseidon which housed a giant gold statue of Poseidon riding a chariot pulled by winged horses. It was here that the rulers of Atlantis would come to discuss laws, pass judgments, and pay tribute to Poseidon..

For generations the Atlanteans lived simple, virtuous lives. But slowly they began to change. Greed and power began to corrupt them. When Zeus saw the immorality of the Atlanteans he gathered the other gods to determine a suitable punishment.

The Atlanteans were aware of the inherent power of crystals and their energy vibrations.

The Atlanteans understood that crystals could heal the aura, and through healing the aura, healing of the physical body could occur.

No written records of Atlantis exist outside of Plato’s dialogues, including in any of the numerous other texts that survive from ancient Greece. Furthermore, despite modern advances in oceanography and ocean-floor mapping, no trace of such a sunken civilization has ever been found.

As the Atlanteans grew powerful, their ethics declined. Their armies eventually conquered Africa as far as Egypt and Europe as far as Tyrrhenia (Etruscan Italy) before being driven back by an Athenian-led alliance. Later, by way of divine punishment, the island was beset by earthquakes and floods, and sank into a muddy sea.
