Using Your Old Marbles (child's play)
Painting is fun
I found a fun way to entertain children 3+ yrs and up. It is messy..it is fun and they love it. I made several small chef style aprons...with pockets in the front..for each child..to help keep them clean.
so here I go : equipment :
large oblong cake pan (glass or metal)
tempera paints 5- 6 colors (they are safe paints) liquid
marbles of different or the same sizes many, many of them. ( have an old collection from both my childhood and my children's)
a child or two and patience.
Next step is to put the white paper in the bottom of the pan (cut to fit) I use paper from a large roll.
then put big blobs of several colors next to each other...but not too close..along the long side..or short side of the pan. As many or as few colors as you like. Well I let them pick what colors they want.
then you place the marbles where you put the paints and tip the pan back and forth so the marbles roll back and forth.
the designs are very different..don't overdo the rolling of the marbles though.
then comes the messy part..removing the marbles that are now wet with the paints...
just clean them and do it again....well first take out the white paper that is now a masterpiece and allow to dry....
