Where to Sell Handmade Products Online (besides Ebay)

Updated on August 22, 2011

This hub is a reply to another one that asked the question in the title!

If you have the techniques to produce some cool stuff at home, you can make some extra money selling them online. Instead of reaching only to your neighbours, friends and family, you can reach out to the world!

"To the world?" - you might ask... Yes, to the world. I ask, Why not?

If there's value in what you're selling, I bet there's someone out there who cans appreciate it! And with the internet you can easily reach a global market.

There's lots of tools for you to choose from, I'll only refer the ones I know better. They're not presented in any particular order.

  • Wigix
  • Amazon
  • Blog
  • Facebook

I got to know in 2008. It's an online store, an alternative to Ebay where you can earn some money in different ways, for example:

  • Creating your store and selling your products there
  • Managing some category and earning from its ads
  • Earning from the selling of items you introduce in the catalog
What's the catalog? Wigix is a product index and it depends on people to update it. so imagine that you know a lot about piano's. You can apply for manager of the piano category, update the catalog with the newest models, and earn money if any of it gets selled!
Try it out, it has a cool interface, connection with facebook, and lots more! Check it out

I don't think I need to tell you about amazon... If you've been on the internet for a while it's probably you've comed accross it.

It started by selling books, then expanded to dvd's, music... and now you can find almost everything there! And best of it, they allow you to sell our stuff there also! So it might be good for you to check it out also.

This one could be great for you! If you're really passionate about your hobby why not writing about it? Why not show people what you do and how you do it?

I'll bet you'll find lots of people with the same interests, who will love your advices and help you on your problems!

Best of all, it's really easy to setup nowadays, it could be free (depending on your choices) and you can show your work and sell it there! While building a strong community around it, your fans :)

And the blog has the advantage that it could help you earn money with more things than your work, like adds, affiliate programs, and much more...

Checkout blogger or wordpress. And if you need professional help doing it, please contact me :)

And for last, facebook! The social network everyone is talking about!

I bet you already have an account there, or know someone that has, and I bet you've heard about it!

So, facebook, has launched a new future: stores! You can create a simple facebook page with your products, decide what you want to sell there, for what price, to whom, and lots of more options...

If you have things to sell, I'll definitely would check this thing out!

Did you know about all these places where you could sell your stuff? Do you know of more? What's your favorite?
