A Festive Christmas - Book Review

Updated on February 2, 2015

My Favorite Christmas Ideas Book

A Book Packed Full of Festive Ideas

I purchased this book when I was teaching at The Academy of Learning. Once a month a book salesman would come and display books and toys that we could order directly from him. It's the best money I spent that week as every year around this time I pull it down from my bookshelf browsing for new ideas for Christmas.

The book is very well laid out in sections making it easy to find what you're looking for. There is an introduction at the begging with a table of contents, and in the back of the book an alphabetical index.

Anyone that likes to cook, craft, sew, or decorate will love this book.

Included in this book review are sneak previews of what the inside of the book looks like, and what it contains.

Bursting With Projects - To Brighten Your Holidays

A truly wonderful book that offers so many ideas to make your Christmas special.

There are 224 pages of full color pictures. There is a section in the center of the book that has patterns for ornaments, a wooden cutout house, and stockings. Mouthwatering recipes that are very easy to follow. There are ideas for decorating your mantel, making topiary trees, wall trees and so much more.

Craft Beautiful Ornaments and Garlands for Your Tree

Learn the German craft of scherenschnitte. In German this means scissor cuts, and it is the art of paper cutting.

Make delicate hand-cast ornaments from cotton linter, and a paper-casting powder, such as clay or paper additive.

Metal ornaments made from copper or tin are on my list of ornaments to make this year.

Also included in this book are gold-leaf and marbleized ornaments.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
