Serif or San Serif? Switzerland for san serif and Copperplate for serif, although I usually spend my day redesigning other peoples 'designs' occasionally I get to do my own.
It really depends on what kind of design and what it is being printed on, Myriad Pro is good. In design school I always tried to use Papyrus but then I got a job and realized you can't read it and it is very limiting . . .
Impact is good for clipping masks, but hard to read most of the time!
