Art and Craft Functionality Decor Center Add On _With Burlap Coffee Sack from a Friendly Food Store

Updated on November 18, 2012

Creative Arts Pragmatic Passion in LIfe ?

Ok, we love art, creative arts as a pragmatic passion in life. We are linked to a Art & Craft Center in your favorite hometown or region. Both of us love green living arts & science. If any or all of these items applies to you or someone in your family or social network circles, this topic may provide a new venue to your artistic pursuits in life. and add value and enrichment for you.

Used burlap coffee sacks are likely to be plentiful at your favorite hometown neighborhoods as we Americans drink coffee so much everywhere and every day. Coffee of all kinds come to our friend food stores on Coffee Sacks made out of a natural fiber called Burlap. Burlap is another name fiber called Jute. Burlap bags carries much more than coffee of course, including grains of all kind such as rice, beans, etc.

But in this discussion, I like to stick to used burlap coffee sacks as our basis material as any art and craft center likely can get these free from a friendly local food merchant who receives coffee to be sold in the store in a burlap coffee sack. Such sacks, instead of being sent for recycling as such a store would do with cardboard boxes, can be the necessary material for your new add-on art & craft functionality & décor center.

Burlap comes from a nature fiber, mostly grown in the old Bengal for centuries past. For those who are interested a bit about history. Bengal was split into two countries in 1947 with independence from Great Britain. West Bengal , a pat of modern India, produces the largest amount of Jute and the old East Bengal, now Bangla Desh provides the 2nd largest amount of Jute. The climate, topography are history somehow combined to make this geography the largest producers of Jute that goes into making Burlap.

Burlap art & craft can be varied and depend on what art items may be most inspiring for your center, I will just highlight some of the main applications possible. Art itself is of course a key element that the artistic students will bring due to their own inspiration and skills. Art can of course be inspired by a particular cultural heritage of such a person, or simply a topic that inspires them.

Functionality & Decor for Art & Crafts at this Bulap Add-On

We all do not need to be a Van Gogh or Leonardo de Vinci to profit from their "great artistic" mind examples !

Many people coming to America from a Asian or Latin American culture, often have sewing skills or have interest in sewing. If this is the case, to add one or more suitable sewing machine to your center, be it from a donation of a local patron or from another source, would be a logical choice to convert a burlap bag raw material to a beautiful object of art with functionality such as a tot bag or a everyday shopping bag, a personalize d patch for a blue jean , or even an art object to hang on a wall somewhere appropriate.

I have added some photos as examples of such artistic décor that are already being done by many places around the world. Some of these images may provide inspiration to your particular favorite hometown center. Link list and lens list will add further sources on the art sides as well as the burlap medium side as we go forward on this discussion.

Daily inspiration and functionality. That's what burlap art and craft can do for us !

Very interesting. I reminded me of how my mother used to sew dresses out of feed bags.
