Over the years I have come to believe my life centers around 'art' and its many miraculous forms. Everything I see seems to be from the perspective of art appreciation. Even the gentle breeze carrying blossoms in drifts like snowflakes. One day I was watching this amazing scene and realized the power in life force. The miracles all around us. The abundant universe who loves art just as much as I do.
I Am an Artist
How Creativity Has Changed My Life
Creative work has been a dynamic part of my personal and spiritual growth. From early years of writing poetry, singing in the school choir, and being involved in activities that sparked my imagination for celebratory decorations...to later years when I picked up paint and brushes to express my inner soul...all along the journey one thing has been very clear; When I stop creating, something inside of me begins to be sad.
So happiness for me is to create, to explore, to learn new skills that allow me to create even more.
Nurture Your Creativity~ Sing, cook, write, dance, play, play, and did I mention play? Every action you take that prepares to create or creates something is an action that moves magical energies throughout the universe.
Even 'thinking' can be creating. AmandaBlue said " There is also a marvelous book that was written in the 1800's! by a man who was way ahead of his time, Prentice Mulford, titled "Thoughts are Things", which explains wonderfully how one's thoughts are concrete, real--and can change the circumstances of one's life, and, more importantly, what to do about that."
"Thoughts are Things"
Mike Dooley (tut.com) says "Thoughts become things...so choose the good ones"
Seems that even a thought can spark a creative energy and nurture us.
So, choose the good thoughts and let yourself have nurturing time.
The following lenses are a mix of my artwork, workshop outlines, and how to use creative techniques to create gifts. I have also included the Nurture Your Creativity Lens.
The Easy Designs to Make With Your Scanner is one in a series of lenses that I am creating to share techniques that are easy and will bring hours of enjoyment as well as potential for making treasured gifts.
GIMP Lenses will show my work as well as general guides so you can make your own designs. If you are new to GIMP, watch for the workshop coming soon that will provide step by step GIMP for beginners information so you can follow all of my work and learn how to create dynamic images and graphics right along with me.
Mike Dooley - Thoughts Become Things
One of the most quoted things Mike Dooley teaches is "Thoughts Become Things" as this has become his signature line. The quote is only part of the process. Learning how to implement what he is saying takes practice. His book is a great place to start.
I will be creating lenses about music and musicians. I personally had an opportunity to participate in musical activities and of course I love so many kinds of music I am sure I will enjoy writing on this topic.
My first lens is about an up and coming musician I am interviewing for the lens feature. Stay tuned, I will certainly send out a squidcast when I have completed this one. My publish goal for this is June 1st.
NOTE: SquidCast is not longer available. The tool was retired.
Awesome People To Celebrate!
I would like to thank the following for the very warm welcome to squidoo.
From the moment I arrived to Squidoo, I have been welcomed and greeted, encouraged and made to feel right at home. This is a dedication to the kindness I have found here.
I hesitated to create this. It is not in any particular order, and I am sure I have left out folks. I have been having a wonderful time building lenses and I have so much to be thankful for.
Thank you all for your kindness and for the warm welcome. I am looking forward to seeing more of your lenses as well.
Thank You All Very Much!
