B&W Photography Up Close

Black and white photographs are known for their classic appeal and they have long been a popular product in the art field. There is a romantic and antiquated feel to B&W photography that has kept the world interested since the onset of invention. Within such art there is a focus on the subject that brings it vividly alive to the viewer. This medium seems to punctuate the image, bringing it forth more clearly with added intensity. Because black and white photography invokes an emotional response galleries worldwide value the beauty of a perfectly shot black and white photograph.

Black & White Forces You To Focus On Your Subject

Capturing the world around us and the people in it in the stark medium of black and white takes away and lays bare the preconceived ideas you may have about the subject. The observer becomes more focused on the subject matter and sees the content as it really is. It easily allows the viewer to add their own ideas about the subject. I spent some time searching through my personal archives of photos and created these quickly with the Aviary photo app on my tablet. Today editing is possible with just a few quick clicks.

What To Photograph When Shooting Black & White

Any subject that is worth capturing can be rendered in this format. Landscapes are a popular theme and the seasoned artist is capable of pulling forth dark and light in such a way that is stunning to the viewer. People and cultures are another popular choice for the artistic photographer. The black and white medium can recall the detail and emotion within a person's face and convey that sense to any art lover who might be interested in the experience.

Quick Edited Images

I am just an amateur photographer but I did spend a few moments searching through my personal photos and created these images fairly quickly with the Aviary photo app on my tablet. For most of these photos I used my little Canon. What would of taken hours in a darkroom, and require black and white, film takes moments in todays world. Editing is possible with just a few quick clicks.
