Buy Creative Memories Albums on Ebay

Updated on April 11, 2016

PreOwned Creative Memories Albums and Products

The Creative Memories Scrapbooking line of products were my first introduction to the new scrapbooking craze that exists today. The year was 1995 and a Creative Memories consultant held a short display during our lunch break at work. Her kids looked so cute in photos accented with color, cardstock and stickers.

The big 12 x12 inch pages were crisp and elegant. The cover a beautiful dark blue in a clothe finish. Each turn of the page was a new theme of color and all the pictures looking like perfect shots.

I was thinking that I should do photo albums like this for my kids. Show them off in dazzling color with lots of imagination on every page. The flip books with the plastic pages were boring compared to this. Some of the plastic pages I had my photos in had a yellow tint. That can not be good. Many photos I had were put haphazardly in boxes. I was going to embark on a new hobby and show off my photos with Creative Memories Albums and other products.

CM Old Size and New Size Pages

When I started buying Creative Memories I thought it was a bit expensive. When I first started scrapbooking choices were limited as far as looks and motifs. Lots of cute and not enough classic. Now any look you want is available.

Like Avon and Tupperware, CM is available through Amazon and eBay. The market hits a saturation point and products become available through these type of outlets. Good for the buyer.

I discovered a few weeks ago a European vacation that was almost completely scrapbooked. The pictures were on old sized album pages. I did not have an album for them. I went to eBay. I love eBay (but not Meg, by the way. That's a inside California joke.) I am so fortunate. The pages are a discontinued size, but there are many albums offered in the old size. A very nice NIB album was purchased for a wonderful price.

I am now watching the blade cartridges on eBay. The old style comes in NIB boxes everyday. Bidding is very competitive. It may be awhile till I get those for a good price.

Retired Creative Memories Albums

If you are caught with scraped retired 12X12 inch pages from creative memories, or even loads of the retired pages in packages; you can still get an album for them on eBay.

Creative Memories

Creative Memories is close to being "the company" that started the scrapbooking business trend that it is today. I believe just about every company with scrapbooking products came after this one. The company was located in MN when a Montana resident, Rhonda Anderson called for a large order of albums to start a woman's group project for photos. Cheryl Lightle received the call for the albums and their conversation that day was the beginning of a company that has thrived since. That was 1987 and soon a consulting business took off and now has over 40,000 consultants in eight countries.

Creative Memories has made it a priority to make products that are the best for preserving your pictures and memorabilia. I was impressed with the testing CM does to ensure their products are better than the competition. They look at quality, aging stability, and assembly to meet standards they have risen the bar on. Using chemical, imaging, mechanical and performance testing to ensure the merchandise meets high standards.

The official website does not just tell you this, there are nine pages of detailed test procedures available for the customer and the consultant to read. They have gone the extra step to open up the company with virtual tours for you to see specific areas of the company such as the digital area, aging chambers, materials testing, wet labs and the environmental room.

The Product

Photo Albums

I enjoy the albums I have bought and used for my pictures. Made with rounded corners and spine covers that expand with the number of pages added. The colors are classic and new colors are issued from year to year. The pages are buffered, acid and lignin-free and come in 4 colors for every need or color theme.

The company offers album cover imprinting to personalize your treasured album.

Once you have an album or pages to work with you can shop their scrapbooking paper, kits, accents, tools and organizers. If you should get scrapers block there is a wide selection of CD's, downloads, idea books and templates to keep you cropping and gluing endlessly. Go to their website for ideas.

Tools include, totes, pens, trimmers, punches and the Creative Memories Cutting System.

Albums Available on eBay. - Shopping for Creative Memories Scrapbooks

Bid on your favorite color. New and retired albums are up for auction. As you can see most albums are still in the packaging: preowned but not used.

Buying Creative Memories

Do not forget Amazon and eBay for your Creative Memories. Over 15,000 Creative Memories products are listed for any day on Ebay alone. Not all the sellers are consultants but some are. The albums are made to last. It is merchandise that should not be trashed in this growing "green" environment. Know what the prices should be for new items and enjoy scrapbooking with the best products on the market.

Photo Splits

Yesterday I found out this 850 count photo splits box I bought at Michaels craft store, fits into the Creative Memories blue box. The blue plastic box was sitting in my drawer unused.

The 50% off Michaels coupon was a plus.

I use the photo splits for my card designs, as well as, scrap booking.

Debbie was asking about where to get the blue photo splits box. The best thing is schedule it on your eBay search. Ebay will let you know when someone puts the item up for sale.

If you do have a Creative Memories consultant be sure to stay in touch and be on the cropping edge of the latest in Creative Memories products

I hope this helps with getting the Creative Memories scrapbooking items you want.

Last tip for scrapbookers: tea bag folding is a good way to decorate your scrapbook. Most patterns when completed lay flat and will not make your book bulky. See all my tea bag folding lenses below.

I have found 3 albums in my basement that I am pretty sure are the old size 12 X 12, but when I hold them up to an album I am sure is the old size they seem exactly the same. Does anyone know what year they made the switch and if there is a way to tell by the label or paper inside the shrink wrap, without actually unwrapping, them if I have the old size or the "true" 12 X 12?

Does anyone know what year the 12" cutting pattern came out? I'm trying to end an argument between two friends. And also, did the blades come with the cutting pattern or were they sold separately? Which came first (cutting pattern or two blades-arabesque and antique)?

@anonymous: If you are still looking for these items they are several on EBAY right now, they are photo splits boxes.

      Good Luck!

I wanted, and got, a scrapbook when I graduated from high school. That was before scrapbooking really got hot.

      @anonymous: Hi Lily,

I was very impressed with CM website. Very professional and I can tell the company gives their consultants all they need to be successful. I use the cutting system nearly every week for card making. I admire the company very much. Thank you, for leaving this excellent comment.

Very interesting all the details andd information which I can say is all true. I have been a CM consultant for more than five years and there is no competition on our quality. I would encourage people to use the services of one of our consultants that you may find in your area and you will get a very personal service, attention and also lessons and instructions for the better use of our products. Also you will receive notice of all our sales and offers that CM offers every month.

@aesta1: Someone has to have a homebase to store albums, but your plan works with computer storage.Your lenses are scrapbooks too.

This looks really interesting. As we're traveling, I just don't like to lug things.
