Learning to Crochet for Beginners

Updated on December 31, 2012

Learning to Crochet? Squidoo Crochet Pattern Directory

Are you learning to crochet? Hi! I'm Momwithahook and I'd love for you to join me as I share with you my love for crochet.

Anyone can learn to crochet - REALLY - I have only been crocheting since 1999. I was hopelessly lost as far as any type of crafty skills until I became pregnant with my last son. I wanted to make a blanket for him so took 2 lessons at the local craft store. Thanks to the patience of my instructor I am now a prolific crochet artist.

Whether you are just starting out or if you've been doing it for 10 or 20 years you can share your patterns or tips on this page. You can even ask me a question and I will try to answer it to the best of my knowledge. If I can't answer it I will find someone who will.

The fun part of Squidoo is that we are a lot of people who enjoy sharing what we enjoy - in my case - Crochet.

Great to find you through twitter. I love to crochet. I don't have any crochet specific lenses, but I do have my crafts lens and my crafts as gifts lens that included crochet. My current crochet project is making all the double thick crocheted hot pads that I can from my sash of varigated yarn. I've made 13 so far and I think I can make 8 more with the yarn I have.

@aesta1: Yes, I hope you do too. It helps relieve my stress and exercises my creative 'muscle'.

I love to crochet and I used to before but have not been at it for so long. I should go back to it. This is very inspiring.

Terrific collection of crochet creations, patterns and resources! Thanks for adding my Sea Creatures in crochet lens. I've just finished a How-To crochet a Tiny Baby Octopus and added it to your Learn to Crochet section. In your list of Amigurumi Crochet Toy Patterns, I got a big kick out of the pictures used for "Crochet Dragon Patterns" and "Crochet Turtle Patterns", because they are BOTH my pictures from my Flickr collection :). Lensrolling to my baby octopus how-to, Sea Creatures, Nature-Inspired Plushies and Roly-Poly crochet. I 'Love' to Crochet and Love this lens!
