Derwent Graphic Pencils for Great Sketches
Using Derwent Graphic Pencils at College
When I was at College doing my A-Levels, I absolutely loved art. I went to King Edwards VI college in Stourbridge. I used to go to the art room in breaks and after lessons. We did a lot of sketching, and I enjoyed the trips out to zoos, parks and museums. My favourite trips were Dudley Zoo and the Birmingham Sea Life centre, because I love to draw animals.
Recommending Derwent Graphic Pencils
Do you enjoy sketching and drawing? I really recommend Derwent art pencils if you enjoy sketching either for a hobby or your studies. These pencils are a must for any artist. My favourite thing about this product is definitely the quality of the pencils. They come in a tin which makes them easy to transport and are excellent value for money. I like the soft pencils as they give you really dark shading.
Tips for sketching with Derwent Graphic Pencils
Remember that when you start a sketch, always stat with the outline and fill the paper. You can use the HB pencil for the basic outline of your sketch. Then you can use softer pencils to give shape and depth to your sketch. My favourites to wok with are 2B and 3B to give depth on a sketch. For example, when drawing something cylindrical in shape, you can use the 3B to make the edges darker, giving a 3D effect. You can also use varying degrees of soft pencils to illustrate texture, such as hair, scales on a fish and bricks in architecture. Derwent pencils are also great for graphic design.
If you want to add colour to your work, Derwent also do a good range of colouring pencils and watercolour pencils.

These Derwent watercolour pencils are great for adding colour to your work. You can use them dry, use them wet or enhance the colour with a wet brush.
