Exciting photoframes

Updated on January 26, 2015

Memories on paper

Photographs are such memories which brings joy to your hearts. Every picture has a story behind it or an incident which can never be erased from our minds.

So it is important that we keep our memories safe and by showcasing these memories, you can bring back those moments in your mind again. Let us learn some photo frames which adds more color to your photo and when it is made by you, has more value and love in it. Here in this I would like to share some of the photo frames which I learnt from some of my friends and some tried by my own. Happy reading! :)

Plain cardboard frame

This is a very simple photo frame and can be made within short time.

Few things you need to make this frame are:

2 hard Cardboards (larger than the size of your photograph).

paints

Transparent cover

glue

Here we go:

Draw the outline of your photo placing it in the middle of the cardboard. Cut out the inner portion from one cardboard and paint it as you like. Stick a rectangular strip of cardboard behind the plain cardboard using sticky tape to make the stand. Stick transparent sheet on the back of the cut out cardboard to protect the photos from dust. Now the final step, stick the cut our card onto the other cardboard three sides leaving the above portion to insert photo. Once it is dried, your photo frame is ready. You can now put in your memories.

potpourri

Potpourri photo frame

This frame is very beautiful to look at and adds more beauty to your photograph. You can also gift these frames to your close ones. It is quite simple to make and is not too expensive though it looks expensive.

Things you need to make this wonderful frame are:

Potpourri(dried flowers, dried orange slices, dried lemon slices, dried leaves, cashew nut in shell, star anise etc shown in the picture)

2 Thick hard cardboards larger than your photograph(it should be 1 1/2-2 1/2 inches around the photograph)

Glue

Varnish

Transparent cover

Sticky tape

Let us now give some work to our hands and brains :)

Draw the outline of your photograph on one cardboard and cut out the middle portion. Or if you want to make a card as shown below in which you can add four small stamp size photos, cut out four squares measuring the size of photograph or you can make with a big single photo. Now arrange all the potpourri items on the cardboard and fill up the gap as much as possible to make it look more beautiful.

now stick all the materials one by one using a strong glue. Once everything is dried, apply a coat of varnish and let it dry. You can cover this with a transparent cover or just leave it like that.

Now make the stand by sticking a rectangular cardboard to the back of the other card board and stick the two cardboards by leaving one end free to insert the photo. If you have made like the one shown below, cutout small cardboards and stick it behind each hole leaving the above end free to insert photo.

Here you go with a potpourri frame ready to gift or decorate your house
