Felt Crafts - Versatile and Fun

Fabulous Felt Crafts - Flowers and More
I've completed many fun craft projects using felt. It's a very versatile material. Felt comes in a wide variety of colors and can be used to make a whimsical and welcoming felt flower arrangement like the one pictured or any of the other projects on this page.
Shown in the picture, I hot glued felt to the tip of these found sticks, wound green florist tape at the bottom to hide any glue, secured a few old buttons in the center of some and displayed them in a milkglass vase. This felt craft won't lose it's bloom anytime soon.
Felt Crafts - Petal Pillow

The trick to making felt crafts like this charming pillow is to purchase good quality felt off the bolt. This type of felt differs from the standard felt sheets found in hobby stores in that this felt is thicker and much stronger. Using this type of felt creates a much fluffier appearance to the petals on the pillow cover.
Click on the photo to get detailed instructions to make your own petal pillow. Don't worry, this pillow cover may appear challenging, but if you can cut circles out of felt, you're halfway done! P.S. If you want to learn how I made the woven leather chair seat, see the tutorial here.
It's Sew Easy Working With Felt Crafts

Felt for Fashionable Young Ladies
Felt crafts can be fashionable too. There is no wrong way to make these homely doll hair clips. There is also no pattern. All that's required is your imagination and a few basic sewing skills.
Felt Monster Kit
Great felt working kit for ages 8 and up. Making a monster doesn't have to be scary; it can be fun! :)

Fun kit to inspire sewing while they're young. Little monsters made of felt.....what's not to love about this? :)

Felt Christmas Ornaments
This set of 4 felt Christmas ornaments I gifted to my two great nieces and two great nephews. Giving each their own look and personality is 3/4 the fun in making these. It's easy! Katie from Punk Projects has this great tutorial.
One of My Favorite Felt Crafts - half eaten gingerbread man Christmas ornament

Elsie Marley was where I found the PDF pattern and instructions to make this half eaten gingerbread man Christmas ornament. This is one of my favorite felt crafts. Make several and attach to top of Christmas packages for a little bonus.
Some Felt Crafts are Simply Beautiful!

Strictly for inspiration, I've included this striking felt craft pin found on Make Handmade. The monochromatic color scheme is the perfect canvas to highlight a few faux pearls and shiny sequins. I may have to try to replicate this felt craft into a Christmas ornament for someone special.
Making Felt Garland
Cut out various sized heart shapes from felt. Sew together in a straight stitch with edges slightly overlapped.

Felt Fortune Cookies
Felt Crafts for Foodies
Martha Stewart's site was where this idea originated, but I've done a tutorial on my Sallygoodin blog. You can hide a sweet candy inside along with a few words of fortune.

I love your felt projects. I still have felt Christmas ornaments from when my kids were little. I can't help but notice the chair in the photo of the petal pillow...are those belts woven in the seat of that chair?? It's awesome!!
These are some fun ideas, and some should work well with children.
I just have to add that those Christmas ornaments made me smile. They are so cute and fun! They would make fun gifts for teachers. Hmmm...
My felt memory is making a pencil holder for my mom out of a tin can covered with felt when I was 5 or 6 years old. Seems like she kept it a long time, but I am pretty sure it is long gone by now. Thank you for the memory!
When I was a children's librarian, I used felt a lot to make flannelboard stories for storytime.
I love felt projects! I've been wanting to try a pillow with a felt flower like the one you have here :).
Super ideas here!
Felt takes me back to my Camp Fire Girl days! I'll always remember when my mom handed out the squares of felt with patterns for us to cut circles (which we were to glue on white painted coffee cans as storage containers). It's hard to keep an eye on 10 girls and before Mom knew it, one of the girls had cut circles out of the CENTER of several squares. Each square should have yeilded 4 circles, not just one. My "waste-notwant-not" mother was NOT amused.
Love your ideas. I want that adorable pillow!
I love felt. It's a versatile medium and can be used in so many crafts! And it's cheap.
