Ten Reasons Why I Love This Book, Fantastic Faces by ZNAZAROO

1. Everyone who says they hate to read, at least picks it up and looks through it.

Like my cousin who hates scary clowns, when the book open up to page 15, she liked the purple hat and heart around the eye idea. See? Not all clowns are scary, or ugly, or mean. We like them fun, happy and entertaining.

Everyone who says they hate to read, at least picks it up and looks through it.

It has a wonderful list of materials as your basic tools to use.

A materials list that includes The Make Up, Brushes and Sponges, Glitter, Special Effects and Hair.

The bright colors and size attract a lot of attention from curious eyes.

That was the first thing that hooked me was the cover design and the great list of ideas before I even opened the page. Face painting ideas. Fancy Dress, for play acting, and mostly, Just for Fun.

The FACES lettering in its bright, bold yellow, in one of my favorite fonts. A job well done goes to the cover designer Terry Woodley, great job front and back.

Water based makeup is the best for easy clean up. Got a girl in the house? Start there. They are masters of face play.

4. Boredom is a lost art with this book around.

Seriously, how can you be bored with ideas like this? Just take a look around, you will find the boredom settle down. I found seasonal themes, just for fun, party ideas, need I go on? 10 minutes of boredom, gone, just like that, just from looking through the pages, saying to myself, found my rainy day bliss.

5. Bringing back a lost art into the mainstream.

Instead of buying masks, make them yourself, or just use your beautiful face.

Face painting is not just for theatrical productions, Halloween or clown costumes. The only place you see it is not just at carnivals or in the movies.

Children love to dress up into other clothing. What finer way to achieve the ultimate play acting than with a decorated face? This book is full of easy, creative, colorful techniques that make me want to get right back into my childhood mime outfits.

Simple Crafts, My Favorite Kind

6. Reminding us all we are creative.

With the simple and quid basics on page 12 even those of us who say we cannot draw and are not artists will want to go grab a paint brush, some water base makeup, a nice clean face or a plain white mask to see what we can come up with! When we can "see" ourselves as something else, a whole new world opens up for us.

7. Giving all of us another way to express ourselves.

Like body painting, that yes, can be washed off if we change our minds.

Any dancer will love using face make up for dramatic effects to their routine and costume.

Or how about for the character you want to be in the school play?

When those toddler boys are getting a bit too active with their toys, mesmerize them for awhile painting them up in their favorite action characters.

8. Teaches examples that can turn into a business.

Oh yeah, perfect for someone like me, a lifelong learner, a lover of business you can take on the road, set up anywhere, any place. Practicing already. Face painters are needed everywhere. Local fairs, school plays, carnivals, clubs and parties.

9. A must have for any theatrical work.

A great skill to learn for any drama class, art project, or dress rehearsal. What performer on stage doesn't add some luster to their face? Looking older, younger, masters of disguises. What movies, singers, entertainers, or comedians can you think of that use make up in their acts?

How about for a wedding? Or, for family photography sessions? Makes for many a new tradition, don't ya think?

10. So easy, yet, practice makes perfect.

Oh yes, just the reading of this book is not going to make me a master with derma wax or crepe hair. Yet, with all the simple effects and techniques in this one book, we could, if we wanted to, and practiced quite a bit, run a workshop. Or? Turn to page 46 for highlights on that specialty.

Face Painting Made Simple is what I love about this video. It's all in the tools and technique.

Fast and Easy, simple techniques for a happy, easy to clean clown face.

True, we've used this book for a couple of birthday parties. I agree the talent in the videos gave us great expectations. Still, easy and fun to do.
