   Do you know of a free logo design website?
   
   Every one I click on in my google search wastes my time by letting me make it then wanting to charge me for something even though it said it would be free. I need to design a simple logo.

   It's always better to go without logo rather than use unprofessional stock logo. Bad logos can entirely discredit your work whereas simply writing out the name of your enterprise in a stylish, well-chosen font will carry a sense of confident minimalism which can do more good than harm.
   
   If you still want a logo, try to put something on paper yourself and ask somebody (who wouldn't be insulted by the request) to vectorize it for you so that you could use it at your discretion.

      What is it for, by the way? The no-logo logo example which is pretty good is on The Sartorialist blog - the blog is huge and he gets away with that old trick. For my own blog I did something similar, it seems to work well for websites.

      It's actually for our business (property inspections). We went 7 yrs without one, closed down last yr and are starting back up slowly so I was trying to reevaluate to make things better. Simple might be best since mostly for business cards etc.

      yes, you're right. that's why specifically ask the logo to be vectorized, although any real designer will do it anyways. so you can change the size as you want. logo actually is one of the places where the investment is worth it. logos talk!

   Obviously it wouldnt be free if you have to pay for it, but you should check out Fiverr. Basically people put up their talents for the price of 5 bucks. You can get virtually anything done on the site for just that amount of money.
   
   I know there are plenty of designers and such on there that would be willing to do something professional or simple, whatever suits your tastes. The only thing is, I have no idea how copyrights and such go when doing that. I cant imagine you run a higher risk of someone hijacking your logo doing that than making your own and putting it out there. Might want to give it a shot.

      Low cost would be an option. Many of the sites I looked at wanted me to purchase business start up kits ($79 and up), so willing to check out Fiverr.

      Hell, you could get well over 10 logos for that price on Fiverr, all of professional quality provided on who you pick.
      
      Side question:How does one do property inspections as a personal business?

      Mortgage inspections. You sign up with the companies who are responsible for making sure foreclosures are not being trashed, and document repairs needed for banks. I actually had a hub of the day about it a while back. Fun nasty work.

   If you want to design your own logo-use Adobe software - like photoshop or in design-if you want someone else to do it-it may be free- or try a college student who needs to gain experience- they can add that to their portfolio and you may get your design completed for free.  Good luck!!!

   Peeples, try using your imagination and your camera. When I came up with my website's name I asked my brother to draw a feathered pen for me (Bravewarrior's Feathered Pen). He went above and beyond by creating a pen out of a stick, feathers, and paint. I laid it on my coffee table and took a photo. It is now the logo for my site.

   Peeples, I'm struggling with exactly the same thing right now.  My company used to have a name connected with windmills because I created the company in 85 after watching a video of "Man of LaMancha" and I wanted to "dream the impossible dream" blah da de blah.  Fortunately, the young man my daughter was dating was a marvelous graphic designer in NY and made us a LOVELY logo.  However, considering my company deals with educational online games and software, windmills had nothing to do with it!  SOOO, NOW my daughter and the graphic designer have long since gone separate ways and we're selling the domain name and re-naming our company.  So I'm logo-less as well.
   
   I definitely agree with Koerkoonlane who says that a professional looking logo is important.  It's VERY important.  In addition to the other great suggestions here, you might try craigslist.  That's where I found an artist in the UK to illustrate my children's book.  I was shocked at the responses I received from extremely talented and professional artists.
   
   Here's a kinda "out-there" idea, but I was trying to make a banner for my company by going to Staples ("services," then "copy and print" then bumper stickers.).  Surprisingly they have logos there.  I searched just now and they have an interesting door under "home inspection".  http://print.staples.com/gallery/EGQBAA … nav=search   They also have just plain initials.
   
   But AGAIN, these are just stock logos.  If you do find one you like, you could order some business cards and something else where you could copy the logo for your website - (just a thought).

   Part of what I do to put food on my table is graphic design. What you're asking is roughly akin to someone who can't write asking "where can I go to get free content for my hub". You could probably dredge up some free content ideas for them somewhere, but would they really want it? Same deal with business logos.
   
   Think about this: your logo represents your business. It probably goes on your business cards, letterhead, invoices, and promotional materials. You don't want a free logo. You want a good logo that represents your business well.
   
   I think stock logos that were designed professionally, like those offered at Staples or VistaPrint when you have your business materials printed might get you by better than trying to hunt down something that's free. Fiverr is a good suggestion if you're willing to pay a little bit for the logo.
