In this articles I've included patterns for Froggy's face, legs and witch's hat. I also explain the steps, with pictures, on how to make a Halloween Froggy Pumpkin Witch.I used a 5" Styrofoam ball for Froggy and the patterns are for that sized ball, but if you want to make a smaller, or larger Froggy Witch Pumpkin, just resize the pattern pieces. It isn't too early to start making Halloween decorations, you'll want plenty of time to just enjoy them.
Get Your Supplies Together
Gather the supplies you need to make this witchy frog. Print out the pattern pieces.
Paint the Styrofoam ball, orange.
Print, Pin and Cut
Flatten one side of the Styrofoam ball so that it will sit solidly. Paint the ball with orange paint. Let dry. Print out the pattern pieces, pin them on the correct color felt and cut them out.
Witch's Hat Assembly
Apply a small amount of glue to one side of the tip of the witch’s hat, hold with a straight pin and overlap the other side to form the hat tip. Then run a line of glue down the rest of the side length, overlap to form a cone.
Around the bottom of the cone, cut ” slits about an inch apart to form tabs. Fit the cone inside the hat brim and apply glue to one tab and attach it to the underside of the brim. Glue the tab opposite the first glued tab and attach. Continue gluing all the tabs to the underside of the brim.
Attach the Hat Band
Starting at the front of the hat, wrap the burlap strip around the crown of the hat and glue in place. Glue the buckle over the band.
Craft the Froggie Face
Glue the white part of the eyes to the frog head, notice the placement. Glue the black eye pupils inside the white, having them touch in the center. Draw a mouth with a black Sharpie and cut a small slit in the center of the mouth. Fit the straight end of the tongue into the slit and glue it to the backside of the frog head.
Place the hat on the painted ball and glue it in place. Glue the legs to the sides of the head. Glue a spider to one side of the frog.
