Glue Gun Earrings - Fun craft under $5!

Updated on November 10, 2013

Creating jewlery with a glue gun!

This is a very inexpensive project (with assumption you already have a glue gun - which also isn't all that expensive) and a fun one as you can make many shapes and designs.

I saw a beautiful pair of glue gun earrings on Pinterest and the idea was so brilliant I knew I had to give it a go. I got my inspiration from Fourfrontdoors.com where you can find a gorgeous glue gun drops earrings tutorial, I did my earrings a bit differently, made a few steps easier (I think) and they work pretty well.

These are all made without moulds and with some geeky and bling inspiration (you will soon see what I mean).

Photos on this page are taken (and copyrighted) by me unless stated otherwise.

Make a stencil for your glue gun jewlery - It will be a lot easier to make

While free hand is an option I suggest you make a stencil. I used toilet paper roll to make the circle and drawn a star and a heart shape.

Next put something "non-stick" and transparent over your stencils. I used baking paper and it worked like a charm.

Place the jewelry finding (eye pin) in the middle of the stencil and get glue gun crazy on it! Fill in the shape and let it dry if you will color it later.

Super Mario Star Inspired Earrings

My first pair of glue gun earrings is a geeky one! I colored them with acrylic colors. You can easily make accessories for your Halloween costume using this technique - these will compliment any character outfit from the Super Mario universe.

Bling it up with glitter!

If you want to make earrings that shine be sure to use glitter! But be quick! As soon as you are done tracing your stencil and the glue is still warm and sticky cover your earnings with lots of glitter.

If you want glitter on both sides you will have to wait until the earrings cool down and use Mod Podge to apply glitter or use glue gun on the back too.

You can use gloss resin to make the earrings more durable.

Supplies that will come in handy

These are just some of the must have items to make your glue gun jewlery making easy.

This mini glue gun has raving reviews and a price that probably can't be match anywhere else.

Who does not love glitter? It's a must for every crafter as you never know when you will need it. Dollar stores usually have them but the color options tend to be limited there.

Glue gun sticks are another inexpensive item. Be sure to stack up on them as they tend to run when you need them the most.

Glitter Heart Earrings - Bling Bling

I really like how these turned out. The glitter actually doesn't fall off and the earrings are slightly transparent which adds even more glam!

Super idea for Valentine's Day! As the "Glue Gun Slinger" contributor I particularly like that this jewelry project uses a glue gun.

Cool idea! I love the Mario star earrings. I don't wear earrings, but I'm thinking this technique would make adorable little ornaments for our advent tree at Christmas.

I'm floored. These are so cute and from a glue gun and nothing else? Most impressive! I love this.
