How To Resize Image

It is really great to take pictures with digital camera. And if there are some things or people you don't want them to be on the photo, you can just cut them out. And if the photo is too large or too small, you can resize it.

You can do that easily with Gimp. I will show you how to resize image and how to cut and crop it too. GNU Image Manipulation Program, is free raster graphics editor and can be downloaded for free.

Here you can download it

If you have never worked with this program, you must be wondering where to get it. Below you can find the link, where to get it for free (GNU General Public License). It works in Microsoft Windows, Linux and Apple Mac OS.

Crop Picture

First we'll check out how to crop the photo. This is how the program looks like when you open it. Now you can open your photo. If you move Toolbox to left, you'll have more space on the right.

There is a rectangle on your image. You can move it around to find the right position to crop your picture. Or you can make it larger or smaller if you want just by pressing it and moving it to the right or left.

Resize Image

We'll take a look how to resize picture. It's even easier.

Just go to Image - Scale image and type in width. And your photo is resized.

If it is locked height will be adjusted too. And if it is unlocked, the program will resize just width and...

And your photo will look like this. You can make your image larger or smaller too.

At the end you just save it and you have your photo nicely cropped and resized. Have fun.
