Whenever someone says 'THANK YOU!' to me, whether in words, by doing some good deed or by giving me a token/gift of appreciation, I always get a nice warm feeling inside. Don't you?

It is good to be on the receiving end but what about being the 'Thank You' giver? Unfortunately, many people never give a second thought to saying 'Thank You' to others who have helped them in some small or big way.

Even Jesus found this lacking ability to say ‘Thank You’ quite distasteful when he healed ten (10) lepers on his way to Jerusalem and only one (1) of them returned to say ‘Thank You’. Jesus spoke up, “There were ten who were healed; where are the other nine? Why is this foreigner the only one who came back to give thanks to God?” (Luke 17:11-17)

And as strange as it sounds when we read that story in the Bible, unfortunately maybe only about 1 in every 10 persons remember to say ‘Thank You’ to a stranger, acquaintance, friend, colleague or family member.

Make a promise today to say ‘Thank You’ more often!

Product Review for Best Canon Wireless All-In-One Printer

Image credit: All photos compliments the author FreshStart7 and copyrighted. Do not copy.

Time required: Approx. 60 minutes (for 16 tags)

Difficulty: easy

Cost: Less than US$10 for material; if you already have the tools.

Materials:

  • 1 Sheet Laid Paper (8 inch x 11 inch)
  • 6 Feet of Curling Ribbon (4 inches per tag)

Tools:

  • 1 One-hole Paper Punch
  • 1 Pair of Scissors
  • 1 Printer (I use the 'Canon Wireless All-In-One Printer' which produces nice vibrant colours as well as clear and sharp prints).
  • 1 Pencil (optional)

Instructions:

1. 'Setting Up and Saving the Page Layout'

a.Open up a blank Word document, to begin designing your tag, by clicking on your Microsoft Word programme. A Word document will appear with a default 'portrait' page layout.

b.Go to File >> New >> Blank document

c.Go to File >> Save as

d.Type in the name you want to save the document as; for example 'Spiritual Thank You Tags'.

e.Click on 'Save' to save the file with your chosen name in a folder of your choice.

2. 'Designing the FRONT of the Spiritual Thank You Gift Tag'

a.To the top and the left hand side of your Microsoft Word document you will see a ruler, which mimics the size of the actual printing paper (8 in. x 11 in.), in order to give you an idea of how your document will look when printed.

b.Use your mouse cursor to adjust the width (up to 8 inches horizontally) and the length (up to 11 inches vertically) of your document.

c.To make a total of 16 tags, as in my example, adjust the width of the document to leave an inch margin on the left, the right, the top and the bottom of the page.

d.Insert your design by clicking on Insert >> Shapes >> Frame. (The cursor will change to a cross).

e.Move that cross-shaped cursor to the body of the page and click. (A 'picture frame' shape will appear on the page).

f.To adjust the design of the shape: Place the cursor on the shape and click on Drawing Tools >>Format >>Shape Styles. (This will allow you to change the colour of the shape, fill the shape with a particular colour, change the outline of the shape or add special visual effects such as a shadow or a glow.)

g.To adjust the size of the shape: Use the ruler to the top and the left-hand side of the page to help you measure and create even-sized tags. (So in this example, each tag should be 2 inches wide and approximately 2 to 2 inches long, yielding a total of sixteen (16) 'Thank You' tags.)

h.Once you have created one shape that is the perfect design, size and shape, copy it and paste it fifteen more times on the same page, placing them side by side, four (4) in each row and four (4) in each column.

3. 'Designing the BACK of the Spiritual Thank You Gift Tag'

The back of the 'Spiritual Thank You' Gift Tag is even easier to make than the front.

a.Just type the words 'THANK YOU' in bold, capital letters, using the font colour and size of your choosing. (In this example, I used the colour 'green', the font type 'Calibri (body)' and a font size of '14' with 'bold' text.)

b.Once you have adjusted your 'THANK YOU' to the perfect colour, font type and font size, copy it and paste it fifteen (15) more times on the same page. (Make sure to place the 'Thank you' in such a way that it will fit neatly to the back of, but within the '2 inch x 2 inch' frame at the front of the page when printed.)

4. 'Printing the Spiritual Thank You Gift Tags'

Print your tags using the following printing properties:

a.Click on File >> Print

b.Go to Printer Properties and tick the following:

a.Duplex Printing (to have the 2 pages printed on one page back and front)

b.Fast (speed priority) (to use less ink but with great print quality)

c.Preview before Printing (to get a peek of what your tags will look like when printed and ensure that there are no errors).

5. 'Making the Spiritual Thank You Gift Tags'

a.Stick readymade spiritual labels within the frame of each of the 16 Tags.

b.Cut out each of the sixteen (16) Tags from the printed sheet with a pair of scissors.

c.Punch a hole to the top middle, top left-hand corner or top right-hand corner of each Tag using a paper punch.

d.Cut the Curling Ribbon into 16 pieces of about 4 inches each.

e.Pass 1 piece of Curling Ribbon through the hole of a Tag and tie a double knot to secure the Curling Ribbon.

f.Repeat the process for the remaining 15 'Spiritual Thank You' Tags.

g.You can hand write a personal note at the back of the Tag under the printed 'Thank You'.

h.Use it by itself as a tiny token or attach it to a small, medium or large gift and present it to the deserving student, friend, family, acquaintance or colleague!

6. THANK YOU MESSAGES!

Take some time now to be reminded of all the things you can say 'Thank You' for and how saying "Thank You' can add tremendous blessings to your life and someone else's life!

Who did you forget to thank this week? Who did you thank this week? Who will you thank this week?

What a beautiful way to say thank you, I love the idea of making these special tags with uplifting spiritual messages. In tag form they are easy to hand out, use in cards (or even as the main embellishment if you are making your own) and pop onto thoughtful gifts.
