Inspired by Nature

Updated on August 31, 2017

Photographing nature regularly

When I found the Redgage 365 day challenge which inspires people to post a flower photo a day, I immediately jumped on board the challenge. I have always loved photography as a hobby and especially enjoy nature photography. And then, as I looked through my photos, choosing the ones to post for the challenge, I was inspired even more!

A photo a day

nature photography

Every day I was challenged to post a photo on Redgage. Not only did this allow me to frequent my photos but it also inspired me to get more and more choices for my gallery. I began to carry my camera around regularly, to plan walks in the park, or the woods so I would have some great photo opportunities. Not only did this improve my photography, but it improved me. It gave me some peaceful times to commune with nature, to just be quiet.

What's Popping! - Can you guess the flower?

I found this bud when I took a walk in the local park. I will need to go back next week so I can see what flower springs from it. Any ideas?

What flower will this bud bloom into

See results

Were you right?

I finally made it to the park to see the bud in bloom!

It seems to me it is a peony!

Congratulations to all who guessed it right!

From birds to butterflies

more nature photography

One summer I devoted a lot of time to taking pictures of birds, as many varieties as I could find. And then, I put them into a photo book for children that taught them about birds as well as identified what each bird was called. It was a good year in the making but I am overjoyed at the result.

So then, I thought I would do the same with butterflies. I haven't got that book quite finished yet, but I did have a chance to use the pictures in other inspiring ways!

Excited to get more

Nature that inspires

And so I am looking forward to finding more pictures inspired by nature to add to my collection. Birds, bugs, flowers and landscapes are all on my wish list. Everywhere I go I will be looking for that perfect shot.

I have started finding quotes to match some of my photos and making photo books, calendars and wall hangings for inspiration.

Record your favourite inspirational quote and I will see what photo it inspires!
