Best Kitchen and Bathroom Design Software

Always in search of the best interior design software, I have found that RoomSketcher Home Design tool works best for me and many others...

Long before the advent of design software programs, many interior designers never dreamed the day will come when drafting tables will become relics of the past.

As technological advancement has opened up a totally new world for those in the design field, life is so much easier for today’s designer. Whether you design clothes, furniture, interiors, or architectural structures, it’s all the same; you can now give explicit visual expressions to your ideas and create detailed drawings or sketches within short periods of time, at the click of a few buttons.

As an interior designer, over the years, I have progressed from drawing on my drafting table with a T-square and triangle to using great software programs like AutoCAD. And though AutoCAD served its purpose for my interior design concepts for some years, I found it not only difficult to master but a tad tedious to use.

AutoCAD is a great design tool for architects and engineers, but not necessarily for an interior designer who depends more on visual representations that are not only colourful and eye-catching but one that ‘tells the whole interior layout story’ at a glance.

I have sought the simplest design tool that will be so easy to use that I’ll require nothing else except my laptop and a couple of hours. And as a large portion of interior remodeling or renovation projects involves kitchens and bathrooms, I find that I require design software that can create beautiful 2D and 3D floor plans and photo-realistic images that allow me to visualize my project quickly and easily.

I know I’m not alone.

Why Room Sketcher is Best for Bath and Kitchen Designs

Because of its versatility and the speed at which sketches can be made, designing a kitchen and bath with Room Sketcher software is certainly fun to use. It is so user-friendly, even a novice will use it successfully the first time.

Space-plan a kitchen or bathroom, and produce layouts that show furniture placement, fixtures, fittings, and cabinetry styles. Choose wall, floor, and ceiling finishes, colours and textures, lighting, and all relevant materials. Decorate with plants, wall art, and other forms of decoration. Add your choice of towels, appliances, cutlery, and the like. And replace materials at the click of a button.

After completing a layout, you can use the in-built camera to take actual 3D shots of the finished design.

You will find these additional features when designing with Room Sketcher

  • Accurate and precise alignments
  • Photo- realistic rendering that’s a breeze to achieve
  • Drag and drop furniture, finishes, doors and windows
  • An extensive library of objects - sinks, faucets, appliances, toilets, bathtubs, showers and enclosures, bathtubs, countertops, fitted cabinets, ceramic tiles and other related floor and wall finishes, hardware, ironmongery, etc...
  • A comprehensive colour palette and building materials allows users visualize design options and alternatives
  • Impressive state-of-the-art 3D rendering
  • Logos or corporate branding on floorplans for company personalisation
  • Automatically calculates total area, gross area, and all internal areas
  • Upload and trace over sketches, images, and blueprints from other drawing software programs like AutoCAD
  • Interior and exterior dimensions, and room sizes

For the professional interior designer and home builder, using Room Sketcher drawing software is a great way to show your clients visuals of exactly what they’ll get in their interior space. It makes it easy for them to understand what creative plans you have for them.

Create a floor plan style to suit your project type or brand but if you don’t have the time to design one by yourself, you can order floor plans made to suit your requirements. Just send in your space measurements (drawn crudely is fine), and you’ll receive a complete set of blueprints within 48 hours.

Kitchen and Bath Remodeling Made Easy

To design a new kitchen space, remodel an existing one, or create a new bathroom style entirely, all that’s required is to take the exact measurements of the existing bathroom or kitchen space (its length and breadth to start with), and create the room's configuration using the design software.

Pick and drop objects like base cabinets, wall units, tall oven units, sink, corner, cooker hobs, extractor fans, bathroom fixtures, bath towels, racks, vanity units, countertops, and open shelf units. Every single item comes with actual measurements and so can be positioned with ease.

Pick floor and wall tiles, mirror walls, lighting, faucets, and bathroom accessories.

Move objects around with the drag and drop feature until you are satisfied with placements. Take 3D shots at intervals to view your design and work at it until the desired effect is achieved.

Once your floor plans, 2D, and 3D shots are complete, share them easily with friends, family, your client or building contractor off-line or online.

There is no better or easier way to visualize an interior space.

And because this software is so simple to use, you will find you don’t need to read loads of instructions before you can get started.

I tried one of these types of software packages a long time ago (over 10 years), and at the time, they weren't that good. They were OK, but the graphics weren't that appealing. With the advances they've now made in computer 3D graphics, these new packages are just incredible...they can provide very clear views and images.
