Gustav Klimt|Beautiful Women Goddess Art|The Kiss

Beautiful women goddess art describes the art work of Klimt, it also describes mine. Erotic art and exotic art indeed are found in Klimts work.. boy is it, most especially in his sketches. I have several books on his works because of my interest in his profound talent. I painted a whole series of work called, "In Search of Klimt" that is featured on my website, I am in love with Klimt huh? If you want to easily recognize a Klimt look for the scales or squares and gold leafing.. and of course the passion. While I personally don't feel my own art really resembles the work of his work that much, because I add the gold leafing and squares I get tagged with it all the time. I love his work so no matter.

Gustav Klimt [Austrian Art Nouveau Painter, 1862-1918]

"I have the gift of neither the spoken nor the written word, especially if I have to say something about myself or my work. Whoever wants to know something about me -as an artist, the only notable thing- ought to look carefully at my pictures and try to see in them what I am and what I want to do."

Klimt The Movie

This is a pretty erotic movie... had to be, cause Klimt was an erotic artist for the most part.

Lyrics to Tim Buckley's

"Song to the Siren"

Long afloat on shipless oceans

I did all my best to smile

til your singing eyes and fingers

Drew me loving to your isle

And you sang

Sail to me

Sail to me

Let me enfold you

Here I am

Here I am

Waiting to hold you

Did I dream you dreamed about me?

Were you hare when I was fox?

Now my foolish boat is leaning

Broken lovelorn on your rocks,

For you sing, touch me not, touch me not, come back tomorrow:

O my heart, o my heart shies from the sorrow

I am puzzled as the newborn child

I am troubled at the tide:

Should I stand amid the breakers?

Should I lie with death my bride?

Hear me sing, swim to me, swim to me, let me enfold you:

Here I am, here I am, waiting to hold you.

When Does Winter Start? A Flower Fairy Called Out, And When Does Summer End?

poem/ thoughts by Kathy Ostman-Magmusen

I painted a whole series of work called, "IN SEARCH of Klimt" in order to FEEL another artist who felt in kin with me. Ahh Klimt hats off! Here then is a poem in honor:

When Does Winter Start? A Flower Fairy Called Out, And When Does Summer End?

When does Winter start?

A fragile fairy

stood against the wind of Fall

and protested its coming.

Day Lily had worried about her timing.

Her flowers

had not been carefully covered

as yet

fore she simply could not accept their sleeping.

She would miss them so

in their repose.

She desperately needed more time

to savour their loveliness

and note their stems green lines.

The clock was surely ticking.

That's what legends and myths

charted

on the surface of her scrapbook

and noted by her

as not to be missed.

Poor little fairy

poor little dear

she wanted her treasures

to last and last

forever.

When does Fall start?

Another fairy in the garden sang forth

not realizing it was already there

losing time to gather leaves

to cover her hydrangeas

allowing them to rest

till springtime

the next calendar year.

She had lost track of time

I guess.

With so much to do

a gardens care taking

she exclaimed

was never quite through.

Poor little fairy

poor little dear.

she wanted her treasures

to last and last

forever.

Oh! When does Spring start again?

I miss it so!

Said a magical creature with wings.

It seems my fellow angels have been sleeping

as they worried bout the cold sting

that Fall

then Winter brings.

Wake up I say

as little seedlings poke their heads

above the dried up leaves

that had covered them

in their seasonal sleep.

OH! Poor little fairies

poor little dears.

They wanted her treasures

to last and last

forever.

When does Summer start?

Tis a flower fairies ball

as they dance on clouds like feathers

and send their secret calls.

Butterflies and honey bees

dragonflies and ladybugs

all decorate their days

for flowers fairies to cheer

and love.

Sunshiny smiles

from every human child

as they chime along with the magic

of a flowers faeries call.

And then?

It all begins again.

For another spring winged creature

frets along the creek

saying when should I start planning for Winter

and oh when will Summer then end?

Tis such a pitiful rhyme

for a fairy counting time

and drumming up the courage to say

when is the last day

of Summer?

And oh, oh my

poor little fairies

poor little dears

Who only wanted their treasures

to last and last

forever.

Artists are sensitive people and are moved by the sights and sounds. I did not know about Klimt until this lens. Thanks so much for sharing.

Music inspires me, fixes and sets a mood. But, I find most of the time, I make art in silence. The only sound I hear are my muses and voices arguing over what they believe I'll do next. (wink!)

    • kathysart 9 years ago

Ohhh YES! I could paint all day to his music!

      Gustav Klimt Quotes

I can paint and draw. I believe this myself and a few other people say that they believe this too. But I'm not certain of whether it's true.

True relaxation, which would do me the world of good, does not exist for me.smallest recess and charge every particle of matter with life.

I'm a painter who paints day in day out, from morning till evening - figure pictures and landscapes, more rarely portraits.

I have the gift of neither the spoken nor the written word, especially if I have to say something about myself or my work. Whoever wants to know something about me (as an artist, the only notable thing) ought to look carefully at my pictures and try to see in them what I am and what I want to do.

      ANOTHER TIM BUCKLEY SONG

      THIS IS THE GREATEST SONG!!

      Tim Buckley Lyrics

      " Dolphins "

Sometimes I think about Saturday's child

And all about the times when we were running wild

I've been out searching for the dolphins in the sea

Ah, but sometimes I wonder, do you ever think of me

This old world will never change the way it's been

And all the ways of war won't change it back again

I've been out searchin' for the dolphin in the sea

Ah, but sometimes I wonder, do you ever think of me

This old world will never change

      The Most Important Thing...

I have many lenses on Squidoo. A lot of them are about creativity, how to find that space. The most important thing about art and creating in my humble opinion is that you love the process. Sometimes I don't so I set it aside for awhile. Creativity is a healer and a best friend.

Klimt has been my favorite artist for awhile. I had a chance to see his work in person when I traveled to Austria. The size of paintings added yet another dimension to the beauty of his work, especially "The Kiss" and "Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I".

Nice lens! I had never heard of Klimt until reading your lens! Thumbs-upped, liked, favorited, and lensrolled. I've always wanted to be able to draw more than just a straight line (and flies)... but photography helps me to capture the images I need to collect in an easier method. Your talent for art and appreciating other artists is impressive. Congrats for producing such an informative lens!
