I love to share my favorite patterns on the web for people out there who like making things as much as I do!

Cowl Patterns for the Knifty Knitters

This page is ode to the cowl, otherwise known as the scarf that will never blow off. There are many beautiful cowls that can be knitted on the Knifty Knitter looms. I have listed them below and organized them by the type of loom required to make it. Most are done on the extra large round loom, which is yellow. There is also a patterns here for the rectangle loom. If you want to use Boye brand looms to make these cowls the XL round loom from their set, which is purple, can be substituted in any of the round loom patterns.

Marino Wool Yarn to Make a Washable Cowl

The yarn used in this project is Martha Stewart's Marino yarn. Marino is a type of washable wool for people that prefer to knit with natural fibers instead of synthetic. If you love the warmth of wool, but want to be able to throw your cowl in the washing machine, this yarn is for you. I'm a huge fan of natural fibers because they breathe, but still keep you warm. I also love that there isn't any static with natural fibers after removing them from the dryer. That's right did you know that static comes from washing and drying synthetic fibers, such as polyester? If you wear natural fibers, such as cotton and wool, you will rarely have static in your clothes.
