So when your children say, "I want to paint." You don't need to run to the store to buy paints, just go to your kitchen cabinet and start mixing colors to make your own paint for kids.

Making paint for kids is a fun inexpensive activity for a kids party too. You could let the children take turns painting each others hands of faces. Alternatively, a grown up could set up a booth for painting and monitor the partygoers.

Painting is a great activity for kids anytime. Finger paints engage several senses such as seeing, touch, and even hearing the squishy sounds of the paint. While face painting with a brush encourages children to learn their colors and practice fine motor skills while having fun.

At the moment, my toddler's 'paint' is his food at lunchtime. Avocado, sweet potato & beets make great art! I'll be keeping home-made paint in mind for when he's older, though :)

I didn't realize how easy it is to make paint! My daughter has sensitive skin so I've never really let her get anything on her face. Now I can make some and she'll be ecstatic!

As a life long crafter and "why should I buy it, I can make it!" guy, I never thought of this, cool.

I never did, but how you describe it, it's easier than I thought. And as you know what ingredients are used, it is even better than go and buy the colors in a shop.

Thanks for sharing this recipe for kids face paint. I'd think it would be so much better than purchasing face paint and you'll definitely get a lot more for your money.
