The Backward Rose Mini Corsage Crochet Pattern

Continuing in the Backward Series, this fun little project is a small corsage you can make for any special occasion, or just make it for yourself if you love to wear flowers!

Similar to, but just patterned a bit differently from the original Backward Rose, you'll find yourself on familiar ground when crocheting it. It measures just about 3" wide and almost 3" tall. It's slightly oval.

Something new with this pattern, it's surrounded by a little lacy border you can do in whatever contrasting color you wish. And I've included a little pattern for a crocheted ribbon you can tie into a bow to accent your piece.

This is your perfect opportunity to show your creativity with adding crystals, sequins, gemstones, whatever you wish! I held myself back and just accented mine with a single large Swarovski.

Hope you enjoy making it!

Clover 1024 Soft Touch Steel Crochet Hooks, No. 8/0.90mm
Clover 1024 Soft Touch Steel Crochet Hooks, No. 8/0.90mm

Simply the best crochet hook ever, in my opinion! The ergonomic handle prevents hand fatigue and allows me to keep crocheting in spite of bad arthritis in my hands. Oh and did I mention... they're practically indestructible!

What You Will Need

Crochet hook in size 8 or preferred size

Crochet thread any size in:

- chosen color for rose

- chosen leaf color(s)

- chosen color for lace border

(You can make this using #8, #10, #20, or #30 thread but do NOT mix them. Keep threads all the same size as you used for the roses.) NOTE: You can make some amazingly beautiful work using 6-8 strands of sewing thread in different colors held together. By changing just one or two threads, you can create beautiful gradient effects. Just use enough strands to equal the thickness of the other thread you are using.)

Beads or crystals (optional)

Glitter (optional)

Tie tack or pin back fastener

Small purchased or handmade ribbon bow
