My first painting and Miró

Panting of a rooster by Miro was my first painting, not that I didn't painted other subjects before but It was the first time I've got some appraisal. I did not copy though, I did my own version, somehow copying feels wrong to me so I always make it different in some way or another.

Miro was a surrealist Spanish painter though he had a style on his own, almost childish drawings and bright colors. I always felt that there was so much to see in Miro's paintings. The rooster in the Chinese horoscopes is a strong sign and the ones born under it have a flamboyant, feisty and obstinate personality.Somehow I really like birds species which the male is the most beautiful, colorful and attractive to the eye.Last year I was observing a chicken sanctuary in a close by town, the rooster was really dominant and hyper controlling over his harem to be so small all rooster have such a big personality! Perhaps that makes then so interesting.

My humble version of Miro's rooster become so important to me that I refused to give it to a good friend of mine, and still remains on my old room at my parent's house. I guess, I can not give it away simply because I genuinely liked and still do.

Thanks,Joyce. Some things remain special through time and others fade away. I think, somehow it's my way to measure improvement in my art, to look back on it and compared with my present work.

thanks! hard to believe but it is my first surviving paiting(well,my first painting was in preschool but it didn't survive);), the first time I chose a project and finished to my likings. If you wish,You can call it my first serious attempt to make it more real.
