Orange with Cloves
Step by step guide on creating christmas oranges with cloves
Making Oranges with cloves is easy, cheap and the payout is awesome. Your home will smell delightfully christmassy and the combination of the red ribbon and the orange, orange lights up any room. Place it on a pile of pine branches for extra colourplay. As an added benefit, all of the materials needed to create clove stuffed oranges should be easily found in any convenience store or you can order them online directly from this lens for extra convenience.
This is a quick and easy self made christmas decoration that even younger children will be able to have fun with.
Materials needed to create Oranges with cloves
Here is the list of the 4 thing you will need in order to create your own christmas oranges.
Orange with Cloves step 1
First step is to get the materials needed. Find a table with a bit of space (you will need it for tying the ribbon) and set out the stuff so it is easy to get to.
Orange with Cloves step 2
Wrap the ribbon around the orange then twist and wrap it around the other way, just like you would wrap a christmas present. Now tie the ribbon in the top of the orange with a double knot. Make sure that the ribbon is tight around the orange so it doesn't slip out. If you are doing this with your children, then this is probably the one step where they will need a helping hand (or finger ;) ).
Orange with Cloves step 3
Now comes the best part. Get your whole cloves and start sticking them into the orange. You can make intricate designs with them or just place them evenly spread out in the orange. This step is the best because you will be enjoying the good smell of orange and cloves.
Children shouldn't have any issues with this step unless the orange is a bit hard in the shell, then it could be hard for younger children to pierce the orange with the cloves. If that is the case you can get a thin knitting pen and pre-pierce the orange for them.
Orange with Cloves step 4
Continue adding cloves until you are satisfied with the look of the orange. When that is done tie the ribbon together at the top and hang the orange with cloves in your window or tie the ribbon into a bow and place the orange in a bowl for table decoration.
The lovely smell of orange and cloves
For Christmas I normally hang and orange with cloves in each of the rooms of my apartment (except the living room). Along with the smell of fresh pine it is my favourite holiday odeur and it awakens my christmas spirit every time I get a wiff of the combined clove and orange smell.
I hope you have enjoyed the lens and that you will try out a clove filled orange as decoration this Christmas.
Happy Holidays! :)
