Paper Airplanes For Kids
Why This Is One Of The Best Books On Paper Airplanes
If you're looking for a book of paper airplanes for kids then there's one clear choice, the Klutz Book of Paper Airplanes.
It's not that the book is spiral bound or made of glossy (protected) sheets of heavy paper, nor that the book is full of fantastic graphics and images. It's not even that the book is priced right at Amazon... what makes this book book by Klutz a best seller for paper plane enthusiasts is that it's chock full of all sorts of airplanes from basic to advanced, and that it was designed specifically to make building them easy for virtually everyone.
That they also include 40 sheets of colored and patterned paper to make awesome fighter jets is a bonus. The book includes detailed, step by step instructions for 10 of the most popular designs, but make no mistake about it, this book is so much more. The early pages include tips and tricks about proper folding and flight symmetry, and even how to best throw your plane for optimal flight!
Paper Airplanes Make Learning Fun For Kids
Once you (or your child) has made a few planes and has the basics of folding and crafting down, they can learn from the very easy to understand pages which explain how important it is to crease the edges well, then dig in to learn about dihedral (angle between the wings), elevators and ailerons (manipulating the flight). This is an incredible learning tool and opportunity to do something together.
The book is well laid out and as I mentioned, the earliest pages do a great job of explaining the basics of paper airplane construction and flight, as you can see in the images below. My camera didn't take the best pictures due to poor lighting, but hopefully they'll give you an idea of what's inside. I love paper airplanes and am happy to answer any questions you may have. This book by Klutz is considered by many to be the single best book to introduce children to the wonder of paper airplanes and flight.
It has a 4.6 out of 5 Star rating on Amazon and our own son loved it growing up. But even adults love the designs and competing to see who's plane can fly the furthest or longest, or do the most loops.
