Striped Leg Warmer Pattern

Deb from the FitzBirch blog writes about knitting leg warmers with the blue round loom. Using only the knit and purl stitches she was able to create these pretty striped leg warmers with ribbing at the top. They should be nice and warm, as they are made from merino wool.

Skill Level: Easy

You will need:

  • Knifty Knitter Blue Round Loom
  • Hook
  • Yarn Needle
  • 4 skeins Bella Baby Merino Superwash

Another Striped Leg Warmer Pattern

Here is another idea for leggings made on the blue, small round loom from the "Sojourner Design" blog. She uses the simple e wrap to knit the leggings using 3 strands of Meadow Muffins yarn held together as one. Knitting is done in a continuous spiral around all pegs. Each color is knitted for approximately 1 inch and then changing to a new color. Ribbing would make the ends of these leggings stretchier, or a garter stitch at the top and bottom would keep them from rolling.

Skill Level: Easy

You will need:

  • Knifty Knitter Blue Round Loom
  • Hook
  • Yarn Needle
  • Several colors of Meadow Muffins yarn rolled into balls of three strands.

      Hi,

I am trying to do leg warmers for my 1-year old kid and trying to figure out the loom to use.. which one shall I go for and what's the best stitch to ensure it fits on her?

      Thanks

I'm interested in making knee-warmers (rather than buying them) for cycling later this year when the weather turns back. Was considering doing it as a flat-stitch (i think) so it doesn't stretch much and the fabric holds well as they wouldn't work "scrunched up" like leg warmers. Any suggestions? I don't have a 10" loom yet, and was considering making a long wide piece on my biggest KK circle loom, then stitch it together. Still fairly newbie at this, but not risk-averse! Thanks!
