About My Pond Lily Series

In the mid-2000s, I really got into designing 3D flowers. I started out with carnations, focused on roses for awhile, and then got tired of those. I tried doing a water lily and enjoyed how it turned out. So I made a little doily and then tried a couple more. Then my interests wandered elsewhere. I still consider Pond Lily #1, pictured here, the most interesting design I have ever done. Maybe you will, too!

This lens includes the pattern for Pond Lily Mini Doily #1. I hope you will enjoy making it! It's a perfect opportunity to play with color, using up small quantities of your scrap threads!

What You Will Need

Just An Idea...

A Word About Thread Selection...

Feel free to mix colors of scrap threads! Just keep them all the same size - 10, 20, 30 etc. Mixing sizes can produce unpredictable results!
