Pumpkin Fun for Kids Including Games, Coloring Pages and Crafts

Updated on October 11, 2014

Fun with Pumpkins

Free pumpkin games, word searches, jigsaw puzzles, pumpkin coloring pages and more! I have some free, printable pumpkin stencils along with ideas for a no carve pumpkin decorating contest.

Learn pumpkin facts while discovering things to do with a pumpkin such as pumpkin crafts. I even have some pumpkin music to enjoy while you're here. Ready to get started? Let's have some fun!

Pumpkin Games for Kids

There are lots of fun pumpkin games for kids. Take a bunch of miniature pumpkins and hide them. Whoever finds the most wins. Play a variation of Hot Potato substituting a pumpkin.

Have a pumpkin rolling contest. Create a start and finish line. Kids must roll their pumpkins using their hands and whoever crosses the finish line first is the winner of the contest. Make a poster of a Jack-o-Lantern without a mouth for a variation of Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Instead of a tail, make Jack-o-Lantern mouths for kids to tape on.

Play How Much Does the Pumpkin Weigh? Get a really big pumpkin and let kids guess its weight. The child who comes closest is the victor.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Have a pumpkin decorating contest. To avoid carving, give kids paint, brushes, stickers and cut out facial features, along with some glue. Yarn can be used for hair and depending on the size of the pumpkin, goo goo eyes can be used if desired.

Kids can create jack-o-lanterns, but don't have to be limited to these. Have them create a self-portrait or make their favorite animal face. How about a favorite cartoon character or an alien pumpkin from outer space. It's all up to one's imagination.

After decorating, everyone can vote for their favorite pumpkin and the winner gets a prize!

I'd have quite a time trying to use up a 2000 pound pumpkin! It might be interesting to find out how they managed to grow one that size. I had a little friend who fed his pumpkin milk and it grew large but not as big as the winner this year. Interesting lens and well done as usual. Angel blessed!

2000 thousand pounds is amazing and that would be quite the challenge to beat and those pumpkin growers sure do put their hearts into growing the big ones. I guess pumpkins are just fun for everyone and you have just that here...including the shock of learning that pumpkins are actually a fruit, now that took me by surprise. I love the energy you have here, this is a feel good place for sure!

I'm carving my pumpkins to make jack o lanterns this year. The world's largest pumpkin was at the Big E Eastern States Exposition - I didn't get to see that just over 1 ton gourd but I would have liked to.
