Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - A Collection Of Images For Recycling Ideas

Updated on January 4, 2013

When there's simply too much....JUNK!

Do you feel like there's just too much junk in your garage or attic or closet and you are at a loss as to what to do with them? Sometimes, it's not easy to simply throw away old stuff because though they are technically useless now since they no longer serve their original purpose, there's still a thread of nostalgia attaching owners to them.

The old dresser where you used to hide your little treasures as a child, away from the prying eyes of your siblings or parents. Those yellow rain boots you used to stomp at puddles in. Your old bike that helped you win countless races home from school or that you used as a getaway vehicle after ringing a grouchy neighbor's doorbell.

Yes, old stuff sure are brimming with old memories. So it' really understandable if you don't want to part with them. However, there are some old stuff that are really nothing more than clutter like used tires, old gallons, plastic bottles and crates.

With the state of our environment today, - there's just too much pollution and diminished forests - our carbon footprint will soon take its toll. Even now we are feeling the effects of our wanton use of new materials and our neglect to mother nature. Our weather are getting freakier every year!

We can do our part in reducing pollution and minimizing our carbon footprint, ensuring a better future for the next generation, by reducing waste, reusing and recycling old stuff.

I have put together pictures that can give us ideas on how we can reuse and recycle old stuff and thus reduce clutter and waste. These images are taken from all over the Internet and most are shared to me through Facebook.

Willing Slaves To Consumerism?

We are becoming slaves to consumerism, and willing slaves at that!

Unscrupulous manufacturers keep producing more because we keep demanding for more. And even when there is no demand for something, many people are easily led to believe that there is, therefore, many of us also willingly consume manufactured needs.

We can never have enough clothing, not enough electronics, not enough gadgets, not enough of anything! As long as manufacturers keep coming up with things to sell us, we will continue to buy...until the whole world is cluttered with stuff that we absolutely have no real need of.

Time To Change Our Way Of Thinking

Using your money on what can enrich your life is more gratifying.

For example, visiting lots of places in and around your country can really enhance your knowledge and reward you with a treasure trove of wonderful memories of the places and people you've seen and known in your life in this earth.

True, it is good to have something to spend but it is better and more life-enhancing to use that hard-earned money for things that we really need and that can add to the value of our life - not just the lifestyle.

Intangible things like good memories, the love of other people, your charity...these are the ones that can outlive you and make your footprints burn so much longer even after you're gone on from this Earth.

in our home , my son wears the socks that became too small for our feet / legs : socks dò schrink heavvily each washingqtime and thènn ...

when they finally end up like swiss alps cheese , whole lotta holes in them

      thènn

they become a smooth operator for a clothes hanger as they cuddle up around the iron hook .

      Just shove the sock over the hook of the c.h. , ...ya està ;

no more creepy noises when you arrange your or are choosing one of your shirts , dresses , etcetera .

Such a long comment to explain a simple trick like this ...

Bye the bye ... i do think we need to emphasise more the thoughtful use of things i mean : each time we want to bring material in our home , we give a second thought to the urgence if we do really need this new mateial . Or reused or recycled , of course .

Remember , it 's our home we fill with all of it , and to the larger extension , our planet which is rEAlly our mother .

it is , no way denying it .

Dear Harriet , i mùst love you as you are sooow recognisable in me .

      that too is ecology /:o)
