Do You Want To Learn How to Crochet

I just love sharing my passion for crocheting with everyone, it has made me friends in all corners of the world. Many who I will introduce you to over the coming weeks.

In the meantime, my friend who looked at one of my patterns said she did not know the difference between a crochet pattern and co-ordinates on a map. But wanted to Learn how to Crochet a simple Baby hat for her son. SO with her points in mind I created 2 special pages, to help all those who wish to learn the simple basics of crochet.

You Will Mostly Find Me ....

creating offline and online

I must be honest, you will mostly find me here in my comfy chair, my hook in hand creating something with yarn, oh and my computer right beside me.

I have been working online for a number of years, Finding and sharing the very best Free patterns with you.

I am mostly known around the web for my crochet. But something that many people do not know is I actually attended college in my earlier years and studied Fashion and Textiles, specializing in creating Sewing Patterns.

Although I can knit, I cant actually hold the 2 needles for knitting, and it is painful as I suffer from inflammation in my neck and shoulder. But I do love knitted items, and respect those knitters.

I am a busy little bee and you can always find me find me hanging around sharing cool tips, helping those who want to get started on their own hobby and of course sharing the best patterns I can find. So make sure you look me up on your favorite site and say Hi, and look forward to what I am going to be sharing with you.

My 3 Favourite Accessories - Things I can't do without

Many Girls would say their favourite accessories may be shoes, handbags, phones, but mine are Yarn, hooks and crochet patterns. You will find my hooks all over the house, usually the one I have lost is found sticking out the side of my head tangled in my hair, and the yarn is frequently to blame for the vacuum not working.

But I would not have it any other way. And if the vacuum does eat it, that just means I get to go shopping for even more yarn.

Patterns With A Hint of Vintage for a very Modern Look

Yester Years patterns have inspired todays creations

Have you ever tried a pattern to the halfway through find mistakes and it never turns out like the photos?

I like to Firstly try out or have it on good authority from someone in the community I know and respect that the pattern WILL turn out just as you want it.

I also create my own crochet patterns, so I know what it takes for a good pattern, for you to be able to follow it and in turn make beautiful projects.

I love to spend my day searching high and low on the Internet for the best I can find. I get so excited when I find these original patterns I have to share them. And even more so when I find vintage patterns, which need to be shared.

Patterns are not new, they have been around for hundreds of years, the way they may have been writte has slightly changed, but the basics are just the same as 100s of years before. The internet just means we have more and more access to them.

I hope to share patterns and crochet tips, I have brought together my knowledge and crafting connections to bring you the most fabulous Patterns I find.

I love it when I am contacted by someone who has tried a pattern I have shared and let me see a photo of it, or tell me how it turned out, I remember one of my readers, who was desperate to get a project finished, and just could not work it out, via emails we finally worked out where she was going wrong in the pattern and she got the project finished, I received a photo the next day of the woman's 1st Grandchild wearing the beautiful cardigan She had created.

I knew how special Gran felt as I was bursting with pride too. There is something wonderful when you have created something and you see the recipient wearing it.

Every stitch is indeed made with Love

The Pattern Queen's Entry to the Crochet Doll Contest

Won 1st Prize

The crochet Doll I used in the introduction post was actually the very first doll I had made, this was inspired by a competition being held by the awesome ladies over at crochet Ville community on Facebook.

We had to create a doll that resembled ourselves, So I made a "mini me Doll Crocheting" .

I just received news I was their winner!

I am over the moon and a huge thank you to all who voted for me. I truly suggest joining in the community over at Crochetville it is an amazing meeting place and very active forum, for those who love to crochet.

I would love to see resources for buying organic cotton, wool and hemp yarns in bulk. They are so difficult to find!

Congratulations on your appointment as the Pattern Queen on Squidoo. This will be a fun category for me to watch, and maybe occasionally in which to participate.

Hi Lisa. I've been wanting to re-learn to crochet, so I'm happy to learn of your website and lenses. I like to make my own sewing patterns, but I'm definitely an amateur. I also enjoy making up my own knitting patterns. I'm a public health educator, grant-writer, and artist, so these handcrafts are a wonderful change from time to time.

Hello and nice to meet you. :) Your pieces that you have created are wonderful -so professional! Would you believe that I have never tried my hand at crocheting! I'm getting antsy to do so. I mean I should really at least know the basics. Also, congratulations on your "contributor" position. You clearly are qualified and deserve it. Have fun! :)

So pleased to learn you are the craft Pattern contributor for Squidoo and So Crafty magazine, Lisa. You'll do a fantastic job with your enthusiasm for your crafting. As you know, I love to crochet, so will be following your stories, particularly in the realm of crochet crafts. Always looking for cute plush animal and/or Amigurumi patterns to try - my favorite things to crochet. :) BTW, in your picture of you crocheting above -- are you crocheting left-handed? I do, and it looks like you are holding your 'hook' in your left hand. :)

I never learned to crochet. My grandma and mom were avid about it. Instead, I learned to sew. I love your patterns. I do have a collection of hooks and scraps of yarn around. I think you've inspired me to take up a new craft. Great job and I'm looking forward to your contributions!
